Xbox live goes down, stays down

Posted on February 23, 2016 by Fionna Schweit

Last night reports started flooding in that Xbox live was down started flooding Twitter, Facebook, and other social media that Microsofts Xbox live service was down. Since the latest Xbox One requires a connection to live to use apps, stream media, and play and download most games, this effectively rendered the 500$ piece of hardware useless. After over 14 hours (first reports coming in at 5pmEST) the service is still spotty this morning. As of my posting this the live status site for Xbox live says everything is back up. We thank you for hanging in there as we investigate sign

Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 | Review

Posted on February 22, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Plants Vs Zombie Garden Warfare 2
Popcap’s long-running feud between photosynthesizing plants and armies of the undead returns to the 8th generation of consoles in Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 for Windows PC, Xbox One and Windows PC. With a little under two years between backyard brawls should players revive their interest in this team-based shooter based upon a mobile game? After playing the Xbox One version for several hours I’m ready to rate Electronic Art’s latest title.

Steamworld Heist DLC on the Way

Posted on February 22, 2016 by Jason Nason

The folks at Image & Form posted a new Q&A on Friday, in which they answered questions from fans about a number of things, but primarily SteamWorld Heist. One of the questions involved ports of the title, which was made for the Nintendo 3DS eShop last fall. There are plans to port the game to just about every platform, including PC, PS4, PS Vita, Xbox One, Wii U, and iOS. The developers haven’t decided on which platform will see the first port. More languages will be supported in the near future, including French, Spanish, German, Russian, and Italian, which will

Microsoft promises that HoloLens wont be another Kinect

Posted on February 22, 2016 by Fionna Schweit

Some may remember the much hyped original Kinect video and how much diffrent actual Kinect games were from what we saw in this trailer. I mean you couldn’t even play the thing sitting down at all, and remember how you had to have a big room?  Never mind that the levels of precision shown in the video simply did not exist in the real world. HoloLense (yes the L is capitalized) now has its own video of such caliber, and even another one  showing someone actually using it to play a “game” which is more than we ever got for the Kinect.

Twilight Princess HD: GameCube Vs. Remake Trailer

Posted on February 22, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

How does a game originally designed for hardware released nearly fifteen years ago fair against an updated version built for modern hardware? This is the question that the latest trailer for Twilight Princess HD asks as the Wii U and GameCube go head to head. Nintendo’s 2006 GameCube swansong / Wii launch title The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is about to make the jump to the 8th generation of consoles with the release of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD for Wii U on March 2nd. The GameCube version has a soft spot in heart, mostly because it

Posted on February 22, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Plants Vs Zombie Garden Warfare 2
Electronic Arts is set to release their sequel to 2014’s Plants Vs Zombies: Garden Warfare tomorrow and I’m currently playing the game for review. While I won’t spoil most of the alterations, additions and returning content that Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare  has I thought it’d be a good idea to share some footage from the Xbox One version of the game. The three videos below will give you a taste of the multiplayer battles from each side – Plans & Zombies – and footage taken from the single player’s first escort mission. Look out for our final verdict on the

Posted on February 21, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Arbiter Killer Instinct
Can the punished right hand of the Covenant forces, The Arbiter, dispense justice upon the combatants of Killer Instinct? After being announces at GamesCom last summer the Arbiter finally has his own gameplay trailer showing off some of the moves he’ll use in combat as well as the new Sanghelios stage. In terms of move-set the Arbiter is able to wield his iconic energy sword with successive quick blows flying towards his opponents. He also comes equipped with a Covenant carbine rifle which can be used across the arena and a sticky grenade for good measure. It seems like defeating
