The Culling is out today to early access ahead of schedule

Posted on March 5, 2016 by Fionna Schweit

Xaviant Games announces that The Culling has been released ahead of time. SUPRISE!  if you haven’t been under a rock for the last two weeks, you will have seen at least one video or stream someone playing this game. Its a survival game with similar mechanics to several other games where you are dropped in to a small area with nothing and then forced to craft things and kill people. Evidently the closed Alpha and its media blitz were a sucess. The developers seem to have had a fire lit under them by the positive media coverage.  So it seems they

Lets go back to 1944 with Battalion 1944

Posted on March 5, 2016 by Fionna Schweit

Its been a little while since I used a PPSH to shoot at someone with an MP-44, and honestly I think its far past time to get ourselves back in the metaphorical trenches. Battalion 1944 aims to do just that with its now fully funded kickstarter. The kick starter generated quite a bit of publicity  as it raised its goals, and showed its technical specs. The kick starter has now ended bringing in £317,218 ($451,000) from more than 10,000 backers. That number is over 300% of its original goal, and represents quite a bit of extra cash to give the studio

Broken Bootlegs- Pocket Monster Famicom

Posted on March 4, 2016 by Erika

Broken Bootlegs is a weekly series covering unlicensed games (also known as bootleg games) for mainly 8-bit and 16-bit consoles. This week’s edition covers an entry that some people may not be familiar with, but people are quite familiar with in regard to the source material: Pocket Monster! Several years back while scouring eBay for reasonable-priced bootlegs or prototype games, I happened upon a YH-4126 4 in 1 cart Super Game, advertised with Pokemon Yellow, Blue, Silver, and Red. For $25, I thought I’d try my luck and see if I could get my hands on either infamous Pokemon Red

H1Z1 King of the kill the first hours:

Posted on March 4, 2016 by Fionna Schweit

So I have heard a crap ton about this game, seen in on Youtube and seen it on stream. Honestly I thought it wasn’t for me. So when our Editor in Chief @kitsune86 said “hey you wanna explore some H1Z1?” I was pretty eager.  I had started looking in to this game when I wrote a news story about how the game was splitting off in two separate games; the survival aspect and the battle royale. I was given a chance to try the battle royal by the developers and this is my log of the results.

Mass Effect Andromeda Delayed to 2017, Titan fall 2 Q3 2016

Posted on March 3, 2016 by Fionna Schweit

It seems like I get half of my news from investment calls these days. This tidbit is no different,  Electronic Arts Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen, who said at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media and Telecom Conference yesterday that it’s slated for the fourth quarter of EA’s fiscal year. The exact statment was “We’ve got our Battlefield first-person shooter game coming in the third quarter, and our third-party title that Respawn, our partner, built, called Titanfall, it’s the second title that they brought into that brand. Both of those are first-person shooters and will be targeted around both the fast, action-driven

Posted on March 3, 2016 by Fionna Schweit

Now they will highlight them in a new event they are calling Women of Power.  Starting March 3, Marvel Games will release new characters and more content across it catalog of mobile, console, and PC titles such as Lego Marvel Avengers, Marvel Puzzle Quest, and Avenger Academy. This should get rid of many of the compliants that folks had of characters like black widow not appearing in the Avengers game titles. There was a small uproar when marvel didnt include many of its female characters in its games, and toys after the
