Sadame | Review

Posted on March 8, 2016 by Jason Nason

When describing this game to a friend I told him that the game feels like playing Double Dragon, but set in Feudal Japan. While that’s not completely accurate, it does lend to the way that the game feels when you play it. Aside from the fact that the game isn’t a two-player co-op, the game does have a single player “multiplayer” aspect which has some fun to it. In SADAME one hundred years have passed since the Onin War. Havoc struck the heart of the holy city of Kyoto and the world flooded with evil spirits from the mountains and

The Culling is everything King of the Hill should be

Posted on March 8, 2016 by Fionna Schweit

Have you ever wanted to feel like you are in the Hunger games? Yah, me either, but I always thought it would make a cool video game. The culling starts off sounding like it’s just another king of the hill style combat game with some light crafting and exploration, but its managed to win over my heart because it’s so much more.  A rock-paper-scissors style combat system, the scarcity of firearms, and the simplicity of the crafting really make this game fun. While it’s still pretty basic, with only one map, it is in early access which gives the developers

According a report filed by the Uk’s Daily Mail Sony has sent out invites to an exclusive event centered around the technology for next Tuesday.  This event which is clearly aimed at the tech enthusiast press just so happens to coincide with the 2016 Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. The Division
Monorex, the team who designed all of the in-game graffiti that is on display throughout the streets of an infected New York City, have brought some of their designs into the real world for a limited time. The Shoreditch Art Wall in London England will play host to real world versions of several art assets from the game for the next five days to celebrate the launch of Tom Clancy’s The Division on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC. To help further connect this art display with the game the crew at Monorex will be adding a layer of bank

The Division is not off to a good start

Posted on March 8, 2016 by Fionna Schweit

The Division
It seems no company can launch a game these days with out headlines proclaiming that the game is not doing well. The Division, the new, much hyped, MMORPG shooter, from Ubisoft has fallen prey to the problems of  so many other massive multiplayer games before it. It appears that the games servers collapsed under the weight of the good ole USA’s player base. In case you missed it (or were sleeping like me) The division launched on Australian midnight last night, allowing players world wide to play at that time. Players who woke up expecting to be able to log in

Solitaire Meets Horse Racing in Pocket Card Jockey

Posted on March 7, 2016 by Jason Nason

I’m a sucker for neat little niche games, and have always enjoyed card games. So when Nintendo tossed out the news that Pocket Card Jockey was coming to North America, I had a huge smile on my face. The game has been developed by Game Freak, a name you should know if you’ve played any Pokémon game ever. They’re only the developers of those games. Since developing the first Pokémon game they’ve been behind every game in the main series since then, including upcoming Sun and Moon. Pocket Card Jockey was released in Japan as a mobile game which has

Ghostlight games will be bringing developer Aquire’s 2008 action/adventure game Way of the Samurai 3 to Windows PC later this year. Set in feudal japan, players control a nameless custom ronin who chooses to help the inhabitants of Amana overthrow the tyrannical Fujimori clan. This series is well known for its branching pathways and multiple endings, since the player has a direct role in the game’s plot the choices they make affect the outcome of the narrative. Kôna: Day One or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Canadia

Posted on March 7, 2016 by Kyle Scarboro

Let me just say that out of the gate, Kôna Day One captures the idea and view I have of Canada: Ice Age. Heh, all joking aside, I really liked this game. I got to see a little of it at PAX Prime last year and I was intrigued with what they were going to do with it. This game is a multi-episodic game and Day One just refers to Episode One, so if you thought this was an one shot, then you would be mistaken.

The Division Day One Patch – V 1.01 – Details

Posted on March 7, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Ubisoft’s upcoming MMO/third person shooter, Tom Clancy’s The Division doesn’t even go live on consoles or PC for another 17 hours but the development team has already detailed the game’s day one patch. No file size for the mandatory patch has been given but we do have a complete list of all the changes and upgrades it brings. After the patch has been applied agents will be able to set custom “outfits” – allowing them the swap between pre-defined sets of equipment. A new help system allows players to see which interactive tooltips they’ve viewed and also allows them to

Posted on March 7, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

According to a series of full page and mobile advertisements that accidentally went live on IGN.com over the past few hours, Blizzard’s upcoming team based First Person Shooter Overwatch will release on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on May 24th 2016. Not only will the game come out in just a little over two months but Blizzard will reportedly host an open beta stress test with customers who pre-ordered the game gaining early access starting on May 3rd. Our staff got the chance to play during one of Blizzard’s rare Closed Beta Test Weekends and honestly I absolutely fell in love

Metroid Prime Federation Force looks like a fun game

Posted on March 6, 2016 by Jason Nason

There has been some hate online since the brief glimpse Nintendo gave of METROID PRIME: FEDERATION FORCE last year at E3. And when Nintendo showed off a new trailer for the game at their Nintendo Direct last week it didn’t get much better. But perhaps I’m in the minority here, but I think the game looks pretty fun. Sure there are some changes to the look of the game, which is what people are likely upset about. The game’s look and art style is a departure from the METROID PRIME games for the Nintendo GameCube, as well as METROID PRIME:

Black Ops III Sub Reddit Moderation Team Quits After Death Threats

Posted on March 6, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

It appears that the moderation team that oversee the popular Call of Duty: Blacks Ops III sub reddit r/BlackOps3 have taken a hiatus from moderation duties after backlash from the community that calumniated in one particular mod receiving death threats. The whole situation can be quite confusing, specifically because the front-page of the sub reddit appears to be filled with spam threads, threads complaining about the lack of moderation and just general immaturity. But from what I can gather from reading this stickied thread and several threads about “the purge” (a name given to the lack of moderation by the community,
