Nintendo eShop Sales for May 12th, 2016

Posted on May 13, 2016 by Jason Nason

I’ve decided to split this off from the regular weekly Nintendo Download to give a little more of a deep dive into each newly added item to the eShop sales list. So what’s been on sale previously will have the same list you remember, but new entries will also have more detail at the top of the page. Please note that all of the below prices are shown in USD. Prices are higher in the Canadian eShop. Enjoy!

All Loot, No Group – Group Finding Tools Hurt World of Warcraft

Posted on May 13, 2016 by Renee Gittins

I still actively play World of Warcraft. No, I don’t mean that I just log into my garrison a few times a week to collect gold and send out followers. I love pets, but that’s not why I log on. There are many more I have to farm, but don’t have the energy to put into hunting them down. I love exploring the beautiful worlds, but that’s not why I log on. I’ve seen almost every inch of every map. I love interesting quest lines, but that’s now why I log on. I just don’t have the motivation needed to

Mini Mario & Friends amiibo Challenge | Review

Posted on May 12, 2016 by Jason Nason

While Mini Mario & Friends amiibo Challenge is not the answer to the killer ap question for giving amiibos a solid use, it is a great start and a positive sign for what Nintendo can and should do with the figures. Much like Skylanders, you’ll need at least one amiibo to play the game, but you can unlock a whole lot more the more figures you have. Mini Mario & Friends amiibo Challenge is a great game and finally does what I’ve been crying for Nintendo to do. Sure it’s neat to tap an amiibo in a game to unlock

9 Ways To Revitalize The Skylanders Franchise

Posted on May 12, 2016 by Les Major

Skylanders-Weeruptor
It’s scary news seeing a Toys to Life series like Disney Infinity come to an end. Especially after Skylanders fans have heard that Supercharger sales aren’t up to expectation. The franchise has a lot of life left in it and I only hope we will see the changes needed to keep it going. Following is my advice for what I’d like to see. Skylanders is a series I’ve enjoyed for a long time now. In the beginning it was easy to even laugh at. We had characters with names like Eruptor and Whamshell that at the time sounded silly. As

Civilization VI Coming To PC This October

Posted on May 12, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

It has been quite a few years since we got a properly numbered Civilization title – sure side adventures like Civilization: Beyond Earth and its’ expansion were fun but they really did feel like an incremental step forward from Civilization V, rather than a completely new experience.  Firaxis Games and publisher 2K have announced that the next mainline entry in the 25 year old franchise, Civilization VI will be released on Windows PC in late October. [youtube id=”qvBf6WBatk0″] Civilization VI looks to build on the successful franchise formula by introducing changes to some of the key components that comprise Civ’s

Disney Infinity Cancellation Is Disappointing News

Posted on May 11, 2016 by Les Major

It’s terrible for us to be reporting the news that Disney Infinity has been officially cancelled. The worst part of the story of course is the closure of Avalanche Software and the dedicated folks there losing their jobs. After the upcoming Alice Through The Looking Glass and Finding Dory releases, there will be no more Disney Infinity. The further disheartening news is that Disney is ceasing ALL game development. While it’s great that we may see some new content from studios we know and love, it means they’ll be working on something else besides the sequels we want or new IP’s. In

I Want to be Human has a lot of potential but falls short

Posted on May 11, 2016 by Robyn Robo

I Want to be Human is a new game from the indie developer Sinclair Strange, over in the UK. It is a run’n’gun 2D platformer with tight jumping puzzles and Super Meat Boy like wall climbing. The game also features a soundtrack from Jimmy Urine, a member of Mindless Self Indulgence and a very unique visual aesthetic with a comic book style and featuring only white, black and red coloring. Out on Windows via Steam at the moment, with major console releases expected as well. Let’s start with the positives for this game, the joypad controls and movement are tight
