Tales of Xillia Launches In Japan Next Week

Tales of Xillia 2, Namco Bandai’s next game ( also first direct sequel  in sometime ) in the long running Tales of  series is almost ready for release in Japan. Xillia 2 will be released on November 1st, just one week from now the company has announced via webcast. Pre-ordering the game gives you exclusive goodies including a novel that bridges the storylines of both games, costume DLC (which Namco will probably release as paid DLC later in the year) and a PlayStation 3 theme. Darksiders 2 DLC ‘Abyssal Forge’ Coming October 30th

Disgaea D2 Set For March Release In Japan, Disgaea 5 Teased

The Disgaea franchise has been with us for two console generations now. Beginning life on the PlayStation 2 it has stayed exclusive on Sony hardware, most recently appearing in the form of a port of Disgaea 3 on the Vita. Major Lay-offs At Sony Affecting Divisions Worldwide

Sony confirmed via press release last evening that massive lay-offs have hit the company. One of the world’s largest videogame, phone and television manufacturing companies will continue to shed 10,000 workers or 6% of its workforce. According to the release all areas will be affected including online services like the Sony Entertainment Network (formally PSN), Sony Ericson Smartphones and Research and Development. Sony Japan reported a loss of several billion yen for the fiscal year 2013 and hopes to have things turned around by the time their fiscal year 2014 results are reported sometime next year. Mass Effect 4 Will Be ‘Shepard’-less

That’s right everyone – Shepard will not make it to Mass Effect 4 (or the equivalent name to the next game). Anarchy Reigns gets Western Date and price cut

Platinum Games’ arena brawler/semi Madworld sequel Anarchy Reigns was originally set for a release this summer, before a last minute delay by publisher SEGA pushed it in to 2013. Now, the game is finally set to enter the ring early next year and will come with a budget price. The studio announced today via Twitter that the open world fighter will hit American markets on January 8 at a reduced $29.99 price point. Europe will get it a few days latter on January 11 at a similarly reduced price point. Platinum Games has expressed frustration in the past about the international release of Anarcy Reigns.

Lightbox Interactive Shifts Focus to iOs, Confirms Layoffs

The studio behind Sony’s exclusive sci-fi action game Starhawk, Lightbox Interactive, has seen sizable layoffs as well as a shift in platforms. The company confirmed yesterday that they will lay-off 24 employees from their Texas studio as of Friday and that the company will no longer be developing for the PlayStation 3 for the time being. Instead they will focus their development efforts on iOs and other mobile platforms. Second Borderlands 2 DLC Leaked Via Trophies

Gearbox Software just can’t seem to keep the DLC for Borderlands 2 a secret now can they? Are after the reveal of the first of several planned DLC add-ons earlier in the month through PS3 trophies, users have now mentioned “Mr.Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage”. Spotted by an eagle eyed reader over at Joystiq the description of this potential DLC reads “Mr Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage 0%”.  Rumors surrounding the existence of the Torgue DLC sprang up in September just after the game launched. TES V: Skyrim DLC Leaked? Possible Dragon Mounts?

If any truth is behind the information hidden away in the PC version of the most recent patch for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, it appears that the next DLC could be called “Dragonborn” and feature ride-able dragons. OXM reports: “Quest markers for Solstheim, Telvanni, Castle Karstaag, Raven Rock and Miraak Temple have been discovered, alongside entries for what appear to be four new armour varieties – Bonemold, Chitin, Nordic and Stalhrim.
