Square-Enix Creates And Pulls Hitman Absolution Facebook App

Posted on December 4, 2012 by Broken Joysticks

In just a single day, the P.R. department representing Hitman Absolution went from celebrating the creation of a brand-new Facebook App to promote the release of said game to initiating damage control because of it. The idea of the app in question was it gave people a chance to send a virtual death threat (yes, that’s the intent of it, I kid you not) by providing a description set from a list of cruel attributes (i.e., muffin top, annoying laugh, small “breasts”, etc.) and a reason why Agent 47 should step forward and kill the person in question, along with

PlayStation Vita owners hold on your hats because a new firmware is now live! Okay, so it’s a minor update but it does fix a rather nasty bug that occurred when attempting to sync your PS+ Vita game saves to the cloud. Hopefully no one reading this has lost their saves, with great games like Gravity Rush and Uncharted: Golden Abyss on PSN Plus it would be a shame to have to restart. The update was announced on twitter this morning and should only take a few moments to apply. On twitter Sony wrote: “PS Vita system software update 2.01

New Tomb Raider Screens Get Down & Dirty

Posted on December 3, 2012 by Joshua Rust

I have to say that I’m extremely excited to get my hands on the new Tomb Raider game when it launches March 5th, 2013.  I think I have played just about every Tomb Raider game that there is and this one looks like it could live up to the classic, original, Tomb Raider game. Throughout Lara’s history there have been some good incarnations and some really bad ones (yes Angel Of Darkness…I’m looking at you). So in order to tide you over until Tomb Raider gets here, Square Enix & Crystal Dynamics have released some new screenshots for you to

Square Enix already confirmed earlier in the year that the game would take place over a 13 day time peroid, forcing the player into a time management while focusing on the other parts of the (combat, cutscenes.. um teenage or 20somethings angst??) Game designer Motomu Toriyama confirmed that one hour in the game takes about one or two hours in real life. This means that each play through is limited

Posted on November 28, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

I think a lot of people in the gaming community laughed when a Sega Genesis game, Pier, was released by an independent developer in 2010. This RPG was a love letter to an RPG long past and thanks to Kickstarter the developer hopes to port the game to current gen consoles including the Xbox 360, Wii U and… the Sega Dreamcast? Originally the developer aimed to bring the game to all platforms using the original 2010 graphics but as the project’s funding grew and grew their vision became more ambitious. For those of you wondering how such a project could

Sorry Xbox 360 Owners, Still No Metal Gear Solid 4 For You!

It went so far as to have users create image macros of a 20 disc Xbox 360 box art mock up for the game. So that when we learned that a New Zealand retail outlet listed an Xbox version of the game we were a little skeptica As it turns out, the image is just the PS3 artwork for the 25th anniversary edition of the game that was recently released with an Xbox 360 banner plastered on

The source for this rumor is a LinkedIN profile for a former employee of Bioware who worked on the game as a level designer.
