The Witch and the Hundred Knights Dated For The West

Posted on December 14, 2013 by Les Major

Unlike previously reported by me last year, the west will be getting The Witch and the Hundred Nights this coming March in 2014. It seems I was a bit over excited before and confused the Japanese release date with the western one. To my understanding, the game has never been delayed. The game which was released in Japan this past summer is a PS3 title. Focusing on marsh witch Metallia and her hundred knights she can summon, Kotaku compared the gameplay to the likes of classic Zelda adventures from the NES and SNES era. However you’ll be using combos and

Tales from the Borderlands Announced

Posted on December 8, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Telltale Games and Gearbox Software have superhero teamed up to bring you what could be a very interesting twist on the Borderlands franchise. Tales from the Borderlands was announced last night at SpikeTV’s VGX Award show and will be released in 2014. For those unfamiliar, but really how could you be, Telltale Games is responsible for the incredible The Walking Dead game (and no, not that other one you’re probably thinking of). Telltale Games will be developing the game, while Gearbox Software will be providing support to keep the continuity in check, among other things.

Take A Look Back At The PlayStation Start Up Sounds

Posted on December 2, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Our console’s start-up sound effects can easily become etched in our memories, you’ll probably hear the starting roar of your favorite console a few hundred times – if not more. To celebrate the recent European launch of the PlayStation 4 Sony has released a short montage featuring the starting sounds for all four of their home consoles from the last 18 years. Hearing the PlayStation one boot up effect again reminds me of the closing days of ’98 where I worked my way through Resident Evil 2 slaying zombies for hours. I didn’t even own the game I’d just keep

Soul Sacrifice Now Available On PlayStation Plus

Posted on November 26, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Did you miss out on Keiji Inafune’s last post mega man project, Soul Sacrifice? Sony has posted this latest Vita exclusive role-playing game for all PlayStation Plus subscribers to enjoy. We don’t know how long the game will be available so you should grab it as soon as possible – sometimes free games are available for a few months and other times they’re gone after only a few short weeks. The install clocks in at about 1.8 GBs, so if you are still using one of the 4GB memory cards that often ships with the PlayStation Vita you might be

Xbox One Ships 1 Million In Under 24 Hours

Posted on November 25, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Although there have been reports of the Xbox One having issues, that’s not stopped it from selling over 1 million consoles in less that 24 hours. Following similar success from the Playstation 4 it looks as if both consoles are off to a great start. In the UK, the Xbox One sold over 150,000 consoles which is double the figure of the Xbox 360’s launch numbers – and puts it just a few thousand units away from topping the Wii U’s lifetime sales in the UK (which launched December 2012). Other interesting stats over the first 24 hours… Over 60 million zombies have been killed in

LEGO The Hobbit Officially Announced

Posted on November 25, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Traveller’s Tales, creator of the fantastic LEGO games, has announced today a new LEGO game based off a popular book series that you may have heard of…LEGO The Hobbit. While some may see these as kids games, I’ll have to give TT credit because the last few games (LEGO Batman 2, LEGO Marvel, LEGO Lord of the Rings), have been exceptionally fun – yes, even for a “kids game”.

Atlus Announces Persona 5

Posted on November 24, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Atlus has released a very cryptic trailer for the newest entry in their Shin Megami Tensei franchise, the highly anticipated Persona 5. A very brief trailer was posted online today, which reveals little about the title. In the less than minute long trailer we see five chairs fade into existence against a red backdrop. The only readable text (for those not fluent in Japanese) teases us about being slaves and craving emancipation – honestly we are just as confused you are at this point. Persona 5 is currently in development and is scheduled to release sometime in 2014 for the

Posted on November 19, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

It has been a while since we’ve covered Techland & Warner Bro’s upcoming zombie action title Dying Light. Yesterday the publisher released a brand new trailer showcasing a reworked lighting engine, based upon Techland’s Chrome Engine 6 this brief trailer shows off some really realistic lighting conditions in a highly detailed city-scape. According to Warner Bros this brand new engine harnesses the power of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Square Enix has decided to delay the upcoming re-mastered versions of Final Fantasy X & Final Fantasy X-2 the publisher announced this morning. Instead of launching on the PlayStation 3 this November the collection has been moved to March 21st 2014 for the PlayStation 3 in North America. No news on the release date of the upcoming Vita version of the Final Fantasy X HD re-masters, but Square Enix issued a small statement to Joystiq where they will clear things up at a ‘future date’. Final Fantasy X / X-2 has been touched up for the current generation of consoles
