New Logo Kojima Productions Revealed

Posted on December 16, 2015 by Broken Joysticks

Kojima Productions, the new studio founded by industry legend Hideo Kojima, has released their new logo. Many have already pointed out the logo bears a striking resemblance to the “soldiers without borders” logo Big Boss adopts after he goes solo, which is fitting considering the original logo Kojima worked under Konami was the same Big Boss used when he was still a part of Fox unit. Kojima Production is now working with Sony on a Playstation exclusive title. Check out the new logo below.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Details Revealed in Famitsu

Posted on December 15, 2015 by Broken Joysticks

Final Fantasy VII remake
The new issue of Famitsu, the famous Japanese gaming magazine, has revealed new info about the Final Fantasy VII remake. Most notably, the game will have more focus on Biggs, Wedge, and Jesse, as well as a fully explorable Midgar. Square has been slowly dripping out info regarding the remake of the classic game, and not all of it has been received positively. In recent gameplay footage, the new battle system was revealed which does away with much of the turn-based elements of the original game in favour of a system resembling that of the FF XIII series. There has

First Gameplay Footage of Yakuza 6 Released

Posted on December 12, 2015 by Broken Joysticks

Yakuza 6
Yakuza 6 has just had it’s very first gameplay footage revealed. Check it out below. [youtube id=sw6Oe1l51pQ] Yakuza is just one of those franchises I never got into, with me only owning a PS3 for about a year before it broke. Still, what people tell me about it sounds kind of neat. There’s very little to be said about the footage, since it’s mostly just fighting animations, but it looks pretty crisp. Apparently the Yakuza are also professional wrestlers, judging from the way they fight. I look forward to dispensing The People’s Elbow to gangsters across Tokyo. Yakuza 6 is

NHL 16 | Review

Posted on December 12, 2015 by Kenny Keelan

If you know me well at all, you should know that there’s one thing other than gaming that’s near and dear to my heart: hockey and the Detroit Red Wings, equally. I’ve been a fan nearly as long as I’ve been alive and when you give me the chance to mix hockey and video games, I am more than happy to participate. Now, I liked it a little more during the 16-bit and 32-bit generations when there was a great deal more competition when it came to hockey video games, but things have gotten so refined now that it would

Kenny’s Fallout 4 Log – One Month

Posted on December 11, 2015 by Kenny Keelan

Masters of the Commonwealth December 11th, 2015 Oh, buddy, I’ve seen some things. I’ve finally gotten through the story content and a majority of the side content that’s presently available and reachable that has been found. I’ve seen references to Cthulu mythology, I’ve battled giants by the handful, I’ve established enough settlements to say I hold command over a small army, I’ve mastered enough of the game to finally understand is actually bugged and what is intended without needing to be told, I’m one of those that now feels confident enough to walk around in aesthetic armor – the Silver Shroud

There’s Some Shady Shit Going Down On The European PlayStation Store

Posted on December 10, 2015 by Rae Michelle Richards

There’s Some Shady Shit Going Down On The European PlayStation Store When a major retailer launched a “buy one, get one free” promotion that includes AAA new releases, the internet generally pays attention. This can be a great thing for consumers, especially those of us who don’t usually have the cash to rush out to get the latest games right at launch. It can also be a huge negative when companies try to fuck over their customers like Sony Computer Entertainment Europe may have done with their most recent promotion. This most recent promotion allows a European PlayStation owner to

Life is Strange | Full Season Review

Posted on December 10, 2015 by Kenny Keelan

life is strange title
I can’t even start this Life is Strange review without worrying about how it’ll sound. That’s how this game has me: in a fluster of emotion, insecurity, and anger. This game perfectly embodies the high school experience – perhaps a little too well. While I am on in my years I remember my years in high school with a kind of clarity that set me on the path I took for college and, by proxy, the rest of my life. I don’t look back on those years fondly. When I purchased the game via the PlayStation Store I thought I was going

Idea Factory International’s Early 2016 Line-up Looks Fantastic

Posted on December 6, 2015 by Rae Michelle Richards

Earlier this week I got the chance to attend Idea Factory International’s second annual press-event in San Francisco California where the publisher announced a very robust line-up for the first quarter of 2016. Not only will the long running Hyperdimension Neptunia franchise make its first leap to the 8th generation of consoles with the North American release of Hyper Dimension Neptunia V. II (pronounced “Vee two” .. it’s not a seven) but also brand new titles for the PlayStation Vita and a whole slew of games making the jump from PS Vita to Windows PC. If you weren’t some of
