WB Games / 2K Sales Hit PlayStation Network This Week

Posted on January 20, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Prepare to enter the shadows like the caped crusader or sneak up on some Orcs like the protagonist of 2014’s Shadow of Mordor with deals from both Warner Bros Games and 2K Games on PlayStation Network this week. I’ve neglected to list pricing on these games simply due to the fact that the Canadian dollar is in a bit of a free fall right now and I suspect the prices I am seeing on the PlayStation Network might not exactly be accurate. Currency oddities aside there are a number of excellent games from years past on sale this week. If

Posted on January 18, 2016 by Erika

Recently released, Star Wars Pinball: The Force Awakens pinball pack for Zen Pinball 2 is Zen Studio’s newest themed offering for players. This pack features the two aptly named tables Star Wars Pinball: The Force Awakens and Star Wars Pinball: Might of the First Order, with themes from Jakku and a Star Destroyer respectively. As with the the previous licenses for Zen Pinball 2, these two tables are not only top notch, but stunningly beautiful as to be expected from Zen Studios. First thing I’ve noticed, is it’s either because of the board layouts for the two, or my eyes

PlayStation Essentials Weekly Sale Now Live

Posted on January 13, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

The latest weekly sale for the PlayStation Network is one that Sony has dubbed the PlayStation Essentials sale. Basically they’ve partnered with a bunch of AAA developers/published and are offering some steep discounts on older content, including a few games from Sony first party studios. Some of these deals might not be Black Friday level discounts but there are some great choices among the offerings. After browsing through the entire catalogue of discounted digital items I personally ended up picking up Project Cars (PS4), Devil May Cry HD Collection (PS3) and Dragon Age Inquisition (PS4) for under $35 Canadian. Amplitude |Review

Posted on January 13, 2016 by Kenny Keelan

15 years ago, long before the Guitar Hero and Rock Band franchises really took off and brought the music game genre to the gaming mainstream, when everyone thought of music games, people brought up games like Dance Dance Revolution and its ilk, such as Bust a Groove, one of my personal favorites, back then, and Parappa the Rapper. Harmonix’s Frequency gave us the same kind of game presented in a different way: you had a catalogue of American artists from across many genres, you were presented a kind of shoot-’em-up rail shooter approach to following along with music, you were given the ability to freestyle remix your song at

Ubisoft Launches Viral Ad Campaign “Cash Contagion” For The Division

Posted on January 11, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

The Division
First spotted on the Ubisoft YouTube channel, the publisher has launched what appears to be an attempt at a viral marketing campaign for the upcoming Tom Clancy’s The Division. If you live in Europe you can take a photograph of a British Pound of EURO bank note and input the serial number into the Cash Contagion website to supposedly see how far the bill has traveled around the world and the amount of bacteria present in the banknote. In Tom Clancy’s The Division a contagion has spread throughout the United States of America that has caused the collapse of all

Which Driving Game Has The Best Graphics On PlayStation 4?

Posted on January 11, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Trick question: Which racing game on the PlayStation 4 has the best graphics? This is a question that might not have an actual quantifiable answer. Do you prefer the street racing neon infused style of the 2015 reboot of Need For Speed?  The faithful interior and exteriors lead by fan input of Project Cars? Or perhaps the jaw dropping visuals to be found in Sony’s 204 racer DriveClub? YouTube Channel Racing Video Games poses this question to its’ subscribers with a purely in-game comparison video between Need for Speed 2015, DriveClub, The Crew and Project Cars – all running on

This new video gives you some information on the inspiration behind protagonist Yarny , as the game’s creative director Martin Sahlin discusses how a family camping influenced the game’s creation. In his recent blog post Martin Sahlin described his vision for Yarny: I really wanted Yarny to be brave, and to accomplish great things despite being so small. I hoped when we were making the game that Yarny would be empathetic and relatable, and based on your support, I can see that Yarny is already reaching people.

Kenny’s Fallout 4 Log – Almost Two Months

Posted on January 6, 2016 by Kenny Keelan

It’s about five or six days short of two months owning the game and I’ve still been playing it, off and on, to pass the time when I’m bored with other games. There’s always downtime with Final Fantasy XIV, too, as my server has some pretty well defined times when it’s better off you just log off if you don’t want to solo quest. I’ve found that in playing it for as long as I have, I’ve pretty much done all that I can do, short of starting again or waiting until Bethesda patches the multitude of issues the game has,

UK Sales Charts For The Week of Jan 2nd Dominated By Black Ops III

Posted on January 4, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Black Ops III
Our first games sales numbers to include the post holiday discount period have arrived thanks to the weekly UK software charts. Not surprising several AAA franchise compose the top ten including EA’s Star Wars Battlefront, Activision’s Call of Duty and Bethesda softwork’s Fallout 4. What is a little surprising is to see Just Cause 3 crack into the top ten – currently occupying the 8th place. Considering that game was released so late in the pre-holiday season (early December) it is encouraging to see it ahead of Forza Motorsport 6 and just behind the latest Assassin’s Creed. Here are top
