The Legend of Heroes: Trials of Cold Steel II will be coming to PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in Europe thanks to Nippon Inchi Software. This sequel to the 2013 original (JPN release) sees the fate of Erebonia hang in the balance as the narrative picks up just one month after the conclusion of the first game. NIS confirmed that Trials of Cold Steel II will be available in both physical and digital versions upon release for all platforms. A narrative link between the previous game and Trials II isn’t the only part of this new game that looks to improve upon the

It Looks Like The Latest Resident Evil Spin-Off Should Have Stayed Buried

Posted on June 22, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Capcom’s take the team based competitive FPS, set in the Resident Evil universe, Umbrella Corps, has only been available for a little more than 24 hours and it seems like overall response from the community can be summed up as a collective “meh”. Over on the Steam user reviews section Umbrella Corps has been met with 67% of reviews bearing a ‘negative’ rating. In order to leave a review for a game users must have it in their Steam library, which means the visible reviews on the Umbrella Corps page reflect the opinion of players who have at least some time into the

Warhammer Inquisitor Martyr – E3 hands on preview

Posted on June 22, 2016 by Fionna Schweit

Warhammer Inquisitor Martyr was one of the games I most wanted to see at E3. I am a massive fan of Warhammer 40K and this game has a custom physics engine on board, to make everything look awesome, and be able to be destroyed. I was unsure of how cover would work in an ARPG styled game, but it turned out I didnt really need it at all. Check out the trailer below for a good idea of how the game plays. I found Neocore Games booth way in the back of South hall, as I approached and saw just a few

All of Titan Fall 2’s DLC will be free

Posted on June 21, 2016 by Fionna Schweit

It is all too easy to lose sight of news post E3 and just talk about all of the amazing games you played, things you saw, and stuff you did. However something as important as this shouldn’t be ignored. Titan Fall was a good shooter, its lack of campaign kept it back from being great, and it had a few mechanics that needed tweaking, but it introduced several elements that most modern shooters now emulate.  So good was it that even with lack luster sales on PC and a fan base that cried for a single player experience in its

Mafia III is looking very strong | E3 Preview

Posted on June 17, 2016 by Fionna Schweit

E3 is about half hands on demos, and half theater’s showing hands off demos, so I wasn’t surprised that this year 2K brought their much anticipated Mafia III game to the convention, with a huge booth, complete with a french quarter and a live band and free beer. Unfortunately (at least for us) they did not bring a playable Mafia III demo. Instead they showed about 30 minutes of game play in a private theater, which all thought it wasn’t live was directly captured from in game. The footage started off with a quick explanation of what was going on

E3: Hands-On With Sniper Elite 4

Posted on June 16, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

I had the chance to hook up with Rebellion and to try out their newest entry in to the long running Sniper Elite series. Sniper Elite 4 will be releasing  Feb 14th 2017, but Brokenjoysticks was part of a select few who were able to try the game in its alpha state today. The demo was about 30 minutes long and featured a wide open Italian country side setting, with a primary mission being to blow up a viaduct by placing a satchel charge and then shooting it to blow it up. Loading in to the game the first thing I

Today I had the chance to see the all new Astro A-50 wireless headset. Astro just announced this headset, which is compatible with the Xbox, PS4, and PC. Many Astro fans no doubt long for the days when the A40 was the top of the world of headsets. Astro hopes to return to these glory days with the new A50 wireless gaming headset. Capcom announces Resident Evil 7

Posted on June 14, 2016 by Jason Nason

It’s going to get seriously creep in July. Capcom showed off a teaser trailer for Resident Evil 7 biohazard at the Sony Interactive Entertainment E3 press conference last night. And it looks slick. Resident Evil 7 looks to be going back to its roots as it puts the story right back to where it all began – in the middle of nowhere. And to make things even more terrifying the game is going to be set in first person view in a photorealistic style. There hasn’t been a first person Resident Evil game since the side-game Reside Evil Survivor. Resident

Three of The Biggest Disappoints From Sony’s E3 Press Conference

Posted on June 14, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Sitting in the massive crowd at Sony’s E3 press conference was surreal, when the event wrapped up my hands were shaking and my heart pounding but in the back of my mind it felt like there was something left unsaid. In the world of games journalism you have to take every leak, slip of the tongue and rumor with a dump truck of salt and even then that isn’t enough skepticism. Here is a quick run-down of three of things that the internet told me I should have expected to be announced. #3 – More Details About The Final Fantasy

E3 Hands-On: Titanfall 2 Multiplayer

Posted on June 14, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

At EA’s new publicly accessible EA Play Event two teams of paramilitary soldiers battle it out for supremacy in multiplayer matches of Titanfall 2. I got the chance alongside our own Fionna Fox to try out one ten minute match during our visit to EA Play this afternoon. Find out why Titanfall 2 looks to take everything good from the first game and some great new mechanics that change how the flow of battle unfurls. I played one of the two available classes in the EA Access demo version of the game – this class came complete with an automatic

Posted on June 14, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Last night at E3 2016 Sony showed off a brand new demo for the recently delayed Horizon Zero Dawn. This latest demonstration showcases our heroine, Aloy, collecting crafting materials and then taking a quest from a near by NPC to save a village from a large techno dinosaur. Our brief glimpse at the game ends with her finding an odd piece of technology that “looks very old” before the screen fades to black. Multiple collector’s editions have been confirmed for Horizon Zero Dawn – for $70 USD the Horizon Zero Dawn Digital Limited Edition will give players two bonus resources

Crash Bandicoot coming to Skylanders Imaginators

Posted on June 13, 2016 by Jason Nason

In perhaps the most unexpected, and at the same time exciting news, Crash Bandicoot is coming to Skylands! Of course Crash Bandicoot has been a longtme sibling game to Spyro the Dragon, on which the entire Skylanders series was based. Crash will be exclusive to the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 versions of the game. In this next game, a wormhole has opened in Skylands and the great Aku Aku appears! He has come to announce the once-in-two-decades Synchronization Celebration–a time when all of the worlds align perfectly. All the inhabitants of Wumpa Island are having a party and they
