The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing Unveiled

The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing, coming soon to XBLA and PC from Neocore Games, has a new batch of screenshots to show us what the game actually looks like. The game is a third person action RPG, very similar in presentation to Diablo but with a definite steampunk influence to the art direction. Neocore says the game features “larger-than-life heroism and snappy dialogues, with wry humor and various twists on the well-known Gothic cliches.” Check after the jump for the screenshots that Neocore sent out today:

Optimus Prime: Heart of a Leader

High Moon Studios has released short feature for their upcoming Transformers: Fall of Cybertron featuring game director Matt Tieger and legendary voice actor Peter Cullen. Cullen, who has been the voice of Optimus Prime since the early 80’s, says about having played the role for so long, “although he’s consistent, doing a movie, and doing an episodic television series, and then doing a video game… although the character remains the same, there’s a different intensity and different approaches.” You can check out the trailer after the jump here:

Jagged Alliance: Back In Action Announced

The first standalone expansion pack for Jagged Alliance: Back In Action was announced this morning. Jagged Alliance: Crossfire thrusts players into the country of Khanpaa, a peaceful place constantly under siege by mercenary groups. Crossfire is set to offer a mix of RPG, RTS and economic management and a unique fog of war system that operates using line of sight rather than the traditional method of uncovering terrain as units move and having it constantly exposed. League of Legends EU Accounts Compromised

We are no strangers to Riot Game’s PC MOBA title League of Legends here at Broken Joysticks. It’s disheartening to hear that the games West and Nordic European servers have been compromised and encrypted passwords & email addresses have been placed in the hands of those who would use them for harm. The company says that no billing related information has been obtained by the hackers but if they were to un-encrypt the passwords used for the small number of LOL accounts compromised, that would be bad. 38 Studios Files for Bankruptcy

Former Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling’s 38 Studios have declared chapter 7 Bankruptcy earlier today. Currently an FBI investigation is under way for the game developer for neglecting to pay their employees, according to a report filed by WPRI News. During the development of Kingdoms of Amalur back in 2010, the development house agreed to a $75 million dollar loan from the state of Rhode Island in order to move its company and its employees to the state to create more jobs. Starcraft II 33% off

Blizzard’s 2010 hit Starcraft II is 33% off (so $39.99) through June 13. This discount is only available through Blizzard’s direct download store. While the MSRP for the title remains at $59.99 nearly two years after launch, a permanent price cut is expected soon as the game’s first expansion, Heart of the Swarm, nears arrival.

Make Money From League of Legends, Officially

Today Riot Games released a brief guide (in plain English, not legalese) officially informing the League of Legends community that they fully allow not only the production and uploading of League of Legends content on video sites such as YouTube and Twitch.tv, but also the collection of advertising revenue associated with such content by the producers. This was done to remove any ambiguity regarding the legal problems that could potentially arise from someone broadcasting (and making money from) intellectual property that is owned by someone else. Watch_Dogs Unveiled at E3.

Update: Check out the teaser trailer and gameplay after the jump! During the Ubisoft E3 Press Briefing, a trailer for a brand new game was shown. The trailer that was shown was a information centric. The trailer that was shown was named ctOS and it takes the open world game to a whole new level. Jonathon Morin, creative director at Ubisoft said that the city was your weapon.

In their E-Sports segment, Ubisoft unveiled Shootmania.  Their next game in the ‘mania series. Two teams were pit against each other in Elite mode, which was still in Alpha stage. In this game, you are pitted in a maze-like arena, the game is like a Team Deathmatch style. The game is in first person view when you’re playing. Once all players are eliminated and then the rounds ends. The pace of the match is fast, you have a massive long jump that will take you to almost the middle of the map. Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron Coming to PC!

Looks like the folks at High Moon Studios have been listening to the glorious outrage from fans of Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron. With that we here at Broken Joysticks are proud to report a PC version of the game will launch August 28th 2012 along with it’s console counterparts. This is huge news for PC fans who loved the first game in the series. The game was very underated in my opinion so its great to see the sequel being given to everyone. Game on my dear readers. August is not that far off.

So there is a new joint effort between Cyanide Studios and Spiders being published by Focus Home Interactive. Looks to be a new brutal fantasy RPG. Now despire recent reviews, I’m a huge fan of Focus Home Interactive and Cyanide Studios. I see passion in their games, som great potential yet to be fully realized. So here’s hoping Of Orcs and Men will relize that potential. Check out the trailer it looks pretty awesome. September 2012 release date you say? I’ll be keeping my eyes on this one.

Gratious Tank Battles Patched

This unique game mixes fleet management with aspects of tower defense titles, allowing the player to choose whether they wish to attack or defend against waves of opponents. This latest patch addresses issues with uploading custom maps as well as various bug fixes and balancing issues. Valve Offering DOTA 2 Beta Access for $39.99

Valve has launched an early access program for their upcoming free to play MOBA game DOTA 2. For the small sum *clears throat* .. of $39.99 USD you too can gain early access to the game as well as a collection of in game items. “The opening of the Dota Store is a big part of our final push to launch,” Valve said in their press release sent out to promote the launch of the online store. I am not exactly sure how well this will be received by the community. At the time of writing no details where available
