User Video Shows Off Improvements In Boom II BFG Edition

Posted on November 27, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Doom 3 BFG Edition didn’t exactly set the world on fire when it launched last month. Promo’d on Bethesda’s official twitter feed this morning was an impressive user video that shows off some of these changes including some impressive lighting displays that really enhance the dark creepy corridors of the original. For the uninitiated BFG Edition includes a remixed version of 2004’s Doom III including a brand new set of levels, polished graphics & reworked textures and game-play balance changes such as the ability to wield the flashlight while weilding your weapon of choice. It also includes the original Doom

Dishonored: Dunwall City Trials Comes December 11th

Posted on November 27, 2012 by Jesse Lord

Ready for a return trip through the city of Dunwall?  Hope so, as Bethesda have just announced the release date for Dunwall City Trials, the first DLC package to be released for the stealth assassination game Dishonored, which we had a great time reviewing earlier this year (seriously, it’s a great game – get it if you haven’t yet!).  Dunwall City Trials is not a storyline expansion, but rather a series of challenge maps.  Straight from Bethesda’s press release: Dunwall City Trials will include 10 challenge maps that will test and track your combat, stealth and mobility skills. Creatively combine

No Multiplayer for Bioshock Infinite

Posted on November 26, 2012 by Jason Bassett

Bioshock Infinite comes out in February of next year and we have been waiting for a long time for the latest game in the Bioshock series. Unfortunately, for most fans of the series, there will be NO multiplayer in Bioshock Infinite. The news came from the head honcho over at Irrational Games: Ken Levine. A fan asked Ken over twitter if there was going to be a mutliplayer component, and this was his response: RT @tha_don_101: @IGLevine can you clear up whether or not Bioshock Infinite will have multiplayer modes? —Nope. He was then followed up with another question to clarify the response:

Borderlands 2 DLC #2 Says Hello To Mr. Torgue

Posted on November 16, 2012 by Joshua Rust

Just confirmed via Mr. Torgue’s Twitter account, it appears that the next DLC installment for the ever popular Borderlands 2 will hit marketplaces next week on November 20th! Just in time for my Thanksgiving holiday break, on yeah. I guess I know what I will be playing. Leaked just nearly a month ago was “Torgue’s Campaign Of Carnage”. Strangely enough, there’s not much information on what this “Campaign of Carnage” actually is. It almost sounds like Mad Moxxi’s Underdome from the name of the DLC, but I highly doubt it’s anything like that because if you look at the trophy list

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City removed from Steam

Posted on November 15, 2012 by Broken Joysticks

For those of you  that have not yet purchased Grand Theft Auto: Vice City off of Steam, there is now an unfortunate happenstance that’s likely to prevent you from playing the role of Tommy Vercetti for an undetermined amount of time. The reported block came from none other than Sony Music Entertainment, who cited licensing misuse on Michael Jackson’s ‘Wanna Be Startin’ Something’ found on the Vice City Fever 105 station. Rockstar has claimed that they are currently in the process of making the game available once again on Steam, as soon as this problem is fixed. Fortunately, if you

Episode 5 Of Telltales’ The Walking Dead Hits Next Week!

Posted on November 14, 2012 by Joshua Rust

The Walking Dead
Telltale has announced today that the finale of it’s five part episodic game will hit marketplaces next week! Subtitled “No Time Left”, it will be available November 20 on the PlayStation Network in North America. As well as November 21 in the EU alongside Xbox, PC, Mac, and iOS versions. Oddly enough, no mention of the Xbox 360 version for North America was detailed. But one would have to assume that it will come out November 20th as well. Again: assume. I’ve played the first three episodes so far and I have loved every one of them even more that the last one that was

You Got My Mass Effect 2 In Your Black Ops II!

Posted on November 13, 2012 by Seung Lee

Retail PC copies of the highly anticipated Call of Duty: Black Ops II come with second installation discs. That may seem perfectly normal, but these discs seem to contain data for BioWare’s Mass Effect 2. People everywhere, from Steam to Reddit, have been talking about this issue. There’s even a video on YouTube showcasing the huge blunder. PC players aren’t completely out of luck, however, because the game can still be installed (albeit, very slowly) with a Steam key that comes with each copy. One has to wonder though–how, exactly, do you go about making such a careless mistake like this?

Will Wright honored at Britannia Awards

Posted on November 12, 2012 by Broken Joysticks

When it comes to video game developers that have found themselves a myriad of awards, names like Gabe Newell or Shigeru Miyamoto often come to mind. However, it is the man behind some of the more ingenious time sinks of all-time that takes the crown. Will Wright of Sim City and the Sims fame acquired himself the Albert R. Broccoli Award for Worldwide Contribution to Entertainment at the 25th Annual Britannia Awards, an awards show from the Los Angeles branch of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts or BAFTA for short. The reason why Wright was selected for

Square Enix has announced today the details of the North American Collector’s Edition for the March release of Tomb Raider. I’m not sure what the deal is with these collector’s editions, but these last few have been looking sweet! (See Assassin’s Creed III & Bioshock: Infinite) Tomb Raider is a juggernaut when it comes to video game franchises, reaching an amazing 35 million copies sold worldwide. It’s no suprise that with thisTomb Raider “refresh” that Square Enix would do something special for it. The contents, as seen above, include: Play Arts -KAI- Lara Croft figurine– Lara Croft has been beautifully

Star Wars: The Old Republic Adds Free Accounts Nov. 15th

Posted on November 9, 2012 by Les Major

Like many MMO’s lately, Star Wars: The Old Republic is adding a limited free account to the subscription based game. Some content is restricted or closed off entirely, but if you’re eager to see what The Old Republic is all about, this is a great way to give in a whirl. Many see this as a step back but I think it’s a fantastic idea. I liked the look of SW:TOR when my MMO gaming friend got into it, but I just couldn’t justify the cost. This way you can personally get in there and see what the game has
