Watch_Dogs CGI Trailer Leaks Before Ubisoft Conference

Posted on June 9, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Get an advanced look at Ubisoft’s Watch_Dogs before their official E3 conference tomorrow at 3PM, thanks to the leak of the game’s E3 trailer. Sadly the whole thing is CGI, and doesn’t contain an ounce of gameplay, but perhaps an on stage demo will after this trailer is screened. The trailer deals with protagonist Aiden Pearce hunting down an alleged Human Trafficker whom we see in the trailer is using the excuse of being “stuck in the office”, as his excuse to manage an elaborate human trafficking facility. I don’t want to spoil anymore about the trailer, but needless to

Screenshots From Private Battlefield 4 Alpha Surface

Posted on June 9, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Electronic Art’s latest Battlefield game isn’t exactly a secret, in fact when the game was unveiled a few months ago they treated us all to over ten minutes of in-game footage taken from the single player campaign.  What is concerning is that someone has leaked almost a dozen screenshots from an internal Alpha build right before E3. While none of the details presented are confirmed, these screenshots hint at some exciting new features for this military franchise. As others have pointed out, a few screenshots in the gallery make allusions to enhanced knife, gun and character customization. BF4 may also

Posted on June 7, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

This past spring’s well received Metal Gear spin-off, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, is ready to tear up your gaming PC. Konami has announced detail surrounding the port of Raiden’s first solo outing.  Rising will be available exclusively through digital distribution platforms, the publisher confirmed in a press release this afternoon. No word on whether or not the PC version will be the same price as it’s console siblings, retailing for $59.99, or if the game will contain additional features like hi-resolution textures. For more information on Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, check out Konami’s official website or read our review.

Community Corner: MMO’s Going F2P

Posted on June 5, 2013 by Trish Bennon

With intense competition pressed upon massively multiplayer online games by the explosion of the casual gaming market, developers are re-evaluating their businesses models to maintain not only their competitive edge but their overall player base. In 2010 Turbine tossed out subscriptions for Lord of the Rings Online and replaced it with a free to play (F2P) model.  Two years later, Sony Online adopted the F2P experience for both Everquest and Star Wars Galaxies.  On June 12th, Trion Worlds will be the latest developer to climb aboard the F2P train. Historically, this shift has proven extremely profitable for developers.  The question

New Hellraid Images Are…Grotesque

Posted on May 30, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Techland announced a little over a month ago a new IP called Hellraid. It’s basically Dead Island meets a dark fantasy setting. Hellraid is a first person hack-n-slash game that can be played cooperatively with up to three different friends. You can play as four different classes including a Warrior, Mage, Paladin, & a Rogue – so there are plenty of characters for all different play styles. If you happened to miss the first gameplay trailer of Hellraid, be sure to check here. Otherwise, continue reading after the jump for some gory new screenshots!

Payday Gets A Sequel And A Web Series

Posted on May 24, 2013 by Eric Bastelak

Thanks to a teaser released this week I was made aware of the coming web series that ties into Payday 2. Now Payday 2 is the sequel to Payday: The Heist a game that I personally loved. So seeing a sequel was cool enough but honestly I’m kind of excited for the web series. Payday 2 is on a couple months away with the release date currently set as August 2013. The web series will be coming in the next couple of weeks. I look forward to watching and eventually playing. Time to let your inner bad boy out. You

Techland Announces ‘Dying Light’

Posted on May 23, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Techland has their hands occupied it seems. With this weeks release of Call Of Juarez: Gunslinger on XBLA, PSN, & PC and the newly announced Hellraid, who would’ve thought that they had another game in the works? Today Techland, developer of the amazing Dead Island franchise, has announced yet another game: Dying Light. Techland has teamed up with Warner Bros. (who is apparently publishing the game) to bring this new IP to PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One in 2014. So what is this new IP, Dying Light, all about?

Neverwinter Astral Diamond Exchange Down

Posted on May 20, 2013 by Les Major

UPDATE: It has been announced that there will be a roll back. Progress made between 5:20 AM and 12:20 PM Pacific Time will be lost to all players. The Neverwinter team does apologize for this and plans to send players a gift for this issue. In unfortunate news today, Neverwinter has hit it’s first big snag. Due to an exploit it seems the astral diamond exchange and the auction house were taken offline. Currently the ‘shard’ servers for the game are all offline. This is a big problem to the legitimacy of the game since astral diamonds, one of the

Electronic Arts Kisses Online Passes Goodbye

Posted on May 15, 2013 by Joshua Rust

This could quite possibly be some of the best news I’ve heard in quite a while in regards to Electronic Arts (EA). It’s been known for quite a while that EA’s upcoming game Fuse will not require an Online Pass to play the multiplayer component of the game, but who knew that EA was actually listening to its fan base (for lack of a better word) when we say that Online Passes suck! According to a recent interview with GamesBeat,  EA senior director of corporate communications John Reseburg, told them that, “Yes we’re discontinuing Online Pass. None of our new titles

New ‘Dark’ Trailer Is Vampire Stealthy

Posted on May 15, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Dark is in development over at Realmforge Studios, which is located in Munich, Germany and is being published by Kalypso Media (who just happens to own Realmforge Studios as well). Dark puts you in the shoes of Eric Bane, a newly turned vampire who has no recollection of how he came to be a vampire. He sets off with his new found vampire powers in pursuit of his lost memories and to find out just what the heck is going on. There are various ways to go about playing Dark and obviously being a vampire, stealth is one of those choices…

First Defiance DLC Detailed

Posted on May 14, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Trion Worlds, creator of Defiance, have announced the first details on DLC for their epic MMO Sci-fi shooter. For the Season Pass holders, you should know the deal by now, you will get 5 DLCs at a reduced price. But the question always remains: Is that content going to be good enough to warrant my purchase of the Season Pass? Well, I know this is just the first DLC but it looks like Trion Worlds will be doing everyone justice. Not only for the Season Pass holders, but there will also be free DLC so that it won’t isolate friends from

Saints Row IV Lets You Battle Aliens As The President

Posted on May 10, 2013 by Les Major

It’s no surprise with this quirky series that takes itself less and less seriously with each sequel, but yes, this time you are the president (seemingly still in your Saints Row custom character lead) fighting an alien race known as the Zin. The game isn’t that far off either, set to be released on August 20th for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC! Check out the newly released, “Meet The President,” trailer after the break. This will be the first Saints Row release after Deep Silver picked up the series as it’s new publisher in the unfortunate auctioning off of THQ’s

Wolfenstein: The New Order Announced By Bethesda

Posted on May 7, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Bethesda Softworks released a surprise announcement today, that is they are publishing a new Wolfenstein game. Titled Wolfenstein: The New Order, it is in development at Swedish developer MachineGames (which was founded back in 2009 by founders of Starbreeze Studios). This new installment of Wolfenstein is set in an alternate universe where the Nazi’s won World War II and this game is thought as the “reimagining” of the franchise. So a new studio takes over a great franchise and hopefully they will make something spectacular of it – unlike the most recent attempt which received a 72/100 average over at Metacritic. With
