Posted on October 2, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

LinkRealms a Steam Early Access MMORPG that attempts to recreate the glory days of Ultima Online will go free to play as of October 10th developer Mythyn has announced. They believe that the game is ready for a wider audience thanks to the success of recent updates that have brought features like criminal status, newcomer enhancements and class adjustments to the game. Mythyn describes their game as a “hardcore sandbox MMORPG” with a set of “old school design choices” and challenging dungeons. Basically, it sounds like this game ignores every genre convention or breakthrough that has occurred since the mid-90s. Currently

Posted on September 26, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

I recently got the chance to interview Clickteam’s Chris Carson about the company’s upcoming “Weirder Stuff” game jam and month long contest. As I previously covered late last week the Weirder Stuff game jam + month long contest is aimed around providing developers and aspiring developers a chance to show off their creative talents using Clickteam’s range of “visual programming” techniques or as Chris so aptly put it when I interviewed him last March at GDC “programming for the rest of us”. Alongside showcasing some of the communities best creative minds Clickteam is also giving away some prizes for the

Posted on September 24, 2016 by Kaylan Heineman

The Road to the Emerald Nightmare: Questing, Leveling, and Gearing Before Legion’s First Raid A great deal has happened since Blizzard Entertainment launched the 6th expansion to their perennial hit MMO, World of Warcraft titled Legion, on August 30, 2016. As someone who began her journey through Azeroth back in the ancient days of 2004, this has been a reawakening and revitalization of the online game’s content and gameplay and frankly I have not had this much fun in this game since Wrath of the Lich King sat on my desk in 2010. EVERYTHING has changed in this game in

Surprisingly Dead Rising 4 only had 2 demo stations at their official booth although more where playable at the Microsoft booth. Indie title Warcube was part of the PAX Rising selection at PAX West. Our own Renee Gittin’s “Potions: A Curious Tale” was playable on the show-floor :D! Cards Against Humanity had a very creative store front at the entrance to this year’s con. It included a hallway that lead to a store where you could buy the subversive card game. Perhaps it was

You can sign up for the Open Beta on their official website if you’ve enjoyed these impressions. Ideally, I would prefer to discuss The Elder Scrolls Legends without having to compare directly to other, more frequently played digital card games.
