Big World Map Returns in New Super Mario Bros. U

Posted on November 8, 2012 by Les Major

One of my biggest disappointments with the Super Mario Bros. series has been the drifting away from Mario 3 and Mario World overworld maps. I know, it’s all the same content but something just feels cooler about those expansive and wandering paths. Now they’re back! This means I’ll definitely be moving in with my friends who buy a Wii U later this month and gather around it’s warming glow in late November. This news is a complete thrill to me. I loved the content of other Mario games, but disliked the straight line of levels. After all, many classic Nintendo

Freshly minted as Animal Crossing: New Leaf , the 3DS title places players in the role of the town mayor. Players will decide what buildings and projects to work on for the town and will have the ability to dictate shop hours among other similar corrupt abuses of power.

A Sneaky Nintendo Counterfeiter Is Facing Jail Time

Posted on October 19, 2012 by Seung Lee

Just in case you thought Nintendo wasn’t doing anything about piracy, here’s some proof: A UK man was charged with selling counterfeit Nintendo games. 41-year-old Justin Success Brooks was finally brought down by an investigation conducted by Nintendo and UK Interactive Entertainment. From 2009 to 2011, Brooks managed to make about 600,000 Euros (or $962,000), by selling several DS, DSi, and Wii games. So, we have two counts of fraudulent trading, two counts of supplying an article to use in fraud, two counts of unauthorized possession of goods bearing a trademark, and one count of unauthorized use of a trademark. Brooks has already pled guilty

Posted on October 16, 2012 by Jason Bassett

As we all know, Nintendo will be launching the Wii U in just a few short weeks and with that comes a couple of cool controllers like the Wii U Gamepad. Nintendo will also be releasing another conventional controller with the system as well. Dubbed the Wii U Pro Controller, the control itself looks like a different version of the Xbox 360 controller. Apparently, both Amazon and Gamestop is reporting some new details about the controller’s battery life: In a report by Destructoid, retailers such as Gamestop and Amazon have been touting that the Wii U Pro Controller will last

Mutant Mudds Free DLC Update Hits 3DS This Week

Posted on October 15, 2012 by Jeff Wade

Renegade Kid’s pixel platformer Mutant Mudds gained a lot of attention when it hit the 3DS eShop last year, and picked up some more when the PC version released with bonus content a few months back. But early adopters of the 3DS version will be excited to know the additional content from the PC release will hit Nintendo’s portable this week as a free update. The new levels put you in control of main character Max’s helpful grandmother, as she battles with the titular Mudds with waterpack and gun in hand. Granny’s levels will utilize all three of the game’s updates, resulting in levels

Reggie Fils-Amie speaks Miiverse/TVii

Posted on October 11, 2012 by Jason Bassett

Reggie Fils-Aime has been busy talking a lot about the Wii U lately. Today on AllThingsDigital, Reggie spoke about the changes in the philosophy that gamers will be enduring the next generation and how television will never be the same again. He mentions about how we all compete against different types of media and that we all have to shuffle around to other devices for all sorts of entertainment. But, how will that be done in a more streamlined approach?

Uh oh! It looks like the one of the very first launch titles will be delayed. Rayman Legends will be delayed until to Q1 2013 said Ubisoft today. In a statement given by Ubisoft, this is what they had to say regarding the delay: Rayman Legends will launch worldwide in the first quarter of 2013. We’re happy that fans are excited about the game, and we are taking the time to make sure we deliver a game that lives up to and hopefully exceeds their expectations. We’ll have more details to share soon. The original plan for Rayman Legend was

Posted on October 4, 2012 by Jeff Wade

Nintendo fans in America might not have gotten the fancy broadcast and official Nintendo Direct that their European breathren received  but  NoA outlined their 3DS digital release for the rest of the year this afternoon. The biggest surprise came in a sequel to the eShop’s best game Pushmo in the form of Crashmo, coming November 22. The sequel keeps the same pushing and pulling puzzle mechanics, but blocks will fall out from under others offering a twist on the first game’s mechanics. Previously announced Fluidity: Spin Cycle and NightSky will also hit the eShop this year. Three of the four games in Level

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Will Live Up To Its Name

Posted on October 2, 2012 by Seung Lee

While Capcom’s Monster Hunter games have always been praised more for their gameplay, rather than their graphics, it seems as though that’ll change for the upcoming Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. MH3U will apparently be running in 1080p and supporting 5.1 channel sound, which is actually revolutionary for the series. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is set to release on the Wii U and 3DS, sometime in March next year. The Wii U version will include online play via Nintendo Network servers, but the 3DS won’t. Check out Tale Tale Source for the source, if you can read Japanese.

We are counting down the next couple of months to the release of the Wii U and we have finally a firm Launch Line-Up to share.  A lot of the games are pretty much what I expected and probably what you expect as well, but I will let you be the judge of that. TGS: It’s a Fantasy Life

Posted on September 21, 2012 by Les Major

Level 5 showed off a new trailer to their upcoming game Fantasy Life today at the Tokyo Game Show. The game, which began development three years ago for the Nintendo DS, will finally be released in December for the 3DS. The game looks a lot like Nintendo’s Animal Crossing, except that it feels like this could have been the next evolution of the Animal Crossing series. This is how the AC games could have evolved and progressed.

3DS Circle Pad Goes XL

Posted on September 20, 2012 by Jason Bassett

In a move that’s not surprising in the least, Nintendo looks as though they have announced a brand new Circle Pad Pro for the Nintendo 3DS XL. Information is scarce, there is no release date or price (sound familiar?), but there is a mock up of how the add-on will look like. Nintendo introduced the Nintendo 3DS Circle Pad Pro back in 2011 and was released in February in 2012 Stateside. The new model seems not much removed from it’s predecessor, which in my mind, is a good thing. Take a look at the screen below.
