New Chibi-Robo Game Coming in January

Chibi-Robo, a fantastically odd little game for the Nintendo GameCube, is making a comeback with a sequel coming this January. Chibi-Robo! Photo Finder will bring “everyone’s favorite helpful 4-inch-tall robot” back in a brand new game which will be available exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS eShop. In the new game Chibi-Robo has been tasked with helping a new museum get off the ground. Players will be given silhouettes of needed objects, then use the Nintendo 3DS camera to find matching objects, known as NostalJunk, in the real world. Nintendo Unveils Hyrule Warriors

Nintendo made a surprise announcement this morning at their Nintendo Direct with the unveiling of a brand new adventure which combines The Legend of Zelda and the style of Tecmo Koei’s Dynasty Warrior franchise. The new action game, which Nintendo president Satoru Iwata confirmed is not considered the next Zelda game, is being developed by Tecmo Koei and is slated for a 2014 release on the Wii U. The game is tentatively titled Hyrule Warriors, though that name could change as the game is still in development. Take a look at a teaser trailer for the new game below.

Nintendo Direct Coming Tomorrow Morning

Nintendo sent out notice today that there will be a new Nintendo Direct being broadcast online on Wednesday morning at 9am ET. This new Direct will share information focusing on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS software launching through spring 2014. Could there be any information about the upcoming Wii U and 3DS Super Smash Bros. games? Perhaps some more details to get gamers excited about the upcoming Bravely Default game. Club Nintendo Rewards – December 2013

The month of December has brought even colder temperatures and four new classic downloadable game rewards for Club Nintendo members, including Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels. The game is one of two Virtual Console titles that are available for the Nintendo Wii/Wii U, the other is Balloon Fight. The two other games for the Nintendo 3DS include Virtual Console title Mario’s Picross and DSiWare title Starship Defense. All four titles are available until January 12th, 2014.

National Streetpass Weekend Starts a Day Early

If you have a Nintendo 3DS you likely already know what StreetPass is, but here’s a brief explanation. Basically if you carry your Nintendo 3DS around with you, either active or in sleep mode, you can receive Mii information as well as game data from others around you who are doing the same thing. If you both share the same title installed on your system you will automatically share data, special items and more. But you have to have StreetPass enabled. Nintendo 3DS eShop eSsues

Some users have been posting about issues connecting to the Nintendo’s 3DS eShop following yesterday’s 3DS update, which added Miiverse and Nintendo Network IDs to the portable gaming device. The issue was also posted by Game Informer and was also experienced with us here as well. Last night immeditely after the update I signed up for a Nintendo Network ID and had no issues getting into the eShop. My previous balance carried over to my new NNid without difficulty. This afternoon howerver I received the following error message when trying to access the eShop:

Nintendo confirmed the release date of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze at Saturday’s VGX event while also confirming a new playable character. The game is set to be released for the Wii U on February 21st with Cranky Kong the newest playable character. The hosts of the awards show tried to pry for more information out of Nintendo at the event, including the ask if another Metroid game was in the works, but no other information was revealed. Bravely Default Sequel On the Way?

According to a report on Kotaku, there may be a sequel to Square Enix’s Bravely Default: Flying Fairy game for the Nintendo 3DS. The first game, which came out in 2012 in Japan with an enhanced edition released just today. This new version has yet to be released in North America but is currently slated for release in North America on February 7th, 2014. Europe will see the game this Friday. Exclusive Nintendo 2DS Pokémon X and Y Bundles Coming

Starting December 6th there will be two special editions of the Nintendo 2DS hardware which will come packaged with Pokémon X or Y pre-installed. The two bundle options will be exclusive to specific retailers and only for a limited time. Target will offer an exclusive bundle that includes the Pokémon X game pre-installed on a red Nintendo 2DS system while Toys”R” Us will offer an exclusive Pokémon Y bundle at stores. 3D Remastered Sonic the Hedgehog on the Way

The next game coming in the SEGA 3D Classics series for the 3DS eShop has been revealed and it’s Sonic the Hedgehog from the Sega Genesis. The first two games in the set were released just last week in 3D Space Harrier and 3D Super Hang-On. Sonic seems like the next logical step to get the 3D treatment. The game is likely still a ways off from being released, but SEGA put up a lenghty blog post today with an interview from the developers of the project. You Tube Arrives on Nintendo 3DS

The You Tube application has quietly arrived in the Nintendo 3DS eShop over the weekend with the app popping up sometime after the weekly downloads were released. The application is quite small and works pretty well, with the app feeling like an extension of the 3DS web browser. Originally announced as part of November 13th’s Nintendo Direct, the YouTube application allows Nintendo 3DS owners, with a broadband Internet connection, to watch all their favorite YouTube content on the go.
