7th Dragon III Code: VFD Swoops Down to North America 3DS this Summer

Posted on February 3, 2016 by Jason Nason

The age of dragons is nigh, as SEGA of America announced it will localize and release 7th Dragon III Code: VFD in the Americas. The turn-based, dungeon crawling RPG for the Nintendo 3DS system pits players to save the world with a group of highly customizable characters with diverse party roles, such as Rune Knight, God Hand and more. In between dungeon crawling sorties, there’s also base building, dating, and a cat café (really). While this is the first of the 7th Dragon series to be released outside of Japan, the story is comprehensive, so no prior knowledge of the

Bayonetta and Corrin Launch into Smash on Wednesday

Posted on January 31, 2016 by Jason Nason

Bayonetta and Corrin, the final two DLC fighters for Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS, will finally be available on Wednesday, February 3rd. Corrin hails from Nintendo’s upcoming 3DS game Fire Emblem Fates. Just like Wii Fit Trainer, Robin and the Villager, players can choose to play as a male or female version of the character. Corrin has the blood of a dragon in his veins, allowing him to transform and pull off attacks like no other fighter. Bayonetta, whose Wii U exclusive title Bayonetta 2 is getting a solo release on February 19th, joins Smash as

Nintendo Doesn’t Show Canadian Prices on their Website

Posted on January 31, 2016 by Jason Nason

I always thought it was odd that Nintendo.com seemed to randomly show prices for their games, while the website seemed to hide them at other times. I could never really make sense of why it seemed to change from one day to the next. Initially I thought it had something to do with sales starting and ending on Thursdays, but I noticed that today on a Sunday the prices were mysteriously absent again. And then I figured it out. It’s because I’m from Canada. No this isn’t a slight or some other cry, but it seems to be from the

Nintendo eShop Sales for January 28th, 2016

Posted on January 28, 2016 by Jason Nason

I’ve decided to split this off from the regular weekly Nintendo Download to give a little more of a deep dive into each newly added item to the eShop sales list. So what’s been on sale previously will have the same list you remember, but new entries will also have more detail at the top of the page. I decided to keep the top two sales for both the Wii U and 3DS this week as they are pretty big titles with some pretty good prices. Especially Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl from Atlus for the Nintendo 3DS. Great deal

Slice It! | Review

Posted on January 28, 2016 by Jason Nason

Slice It! is a rather simple puzzle game with a very simple concept. It is also the latest game to make the move from free app in the app store to a paid eShop title for the Nintendo 3DS. And while the game does have it’s fair share of challenge and enjoyment, the $5.99 price tag feels a bit hefty for what is available for free on smartphones. But price aside, what is this game? Slice It! is geometric puzzle game where your goal is to slice up shapes into the desired number of pieces in a set number of

Nintendo 3DS System Updated to Version 10.5.0-30U

Posted on January 25, 2016 by Jason Nason

It’s been exactly one week since the last system update, but the Nintendo 3DS firmware has been updated again. This is a very minor update which updates the 3DS system from version 10.4.0-29 U to version 10.5.0-30U. There aren’t any big changes in this update, with the only text on the update the very same as last week’s update. The text from Nintendo as follows: “Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience.”

Fourth Series of Animal Crossing amiibo cards Announced

Posted on January 25, 2016 by Jason Nason

The third series of Animal Crossing amiibo cards may have just been released in Japan but there are already more planned. On a post on Nintendo Japan’s website the next series of cards has been announced. The next 100 cards will hit stores in Japan on March 24th. As always the cards will come in packs of three for about ¥324. This will bring the series up to 400 cards. The second series of cards just came out in North America last week with the third series of English cards set for March. While I have yet to complete my

Labyrinth of Wonderland Destined for North American eShop?

Posted on January 24, 2016 by Jason Nason

First came Adventure Bar Story, then came the sequel Mercenaries Saga 2. And it now looks like the third game in the series might be on the way. Developed by Rideon, the third game in the series Labyrinth of Wonderland could be on the way. Rideon Japan opened up the website for the game today and the game is listed as releasing in Japan in February. While it’s not confirmed that the game will be making its way to North America anytime soon, it’s likely that Circle will be bringing that game here shortly. Circle Entertainment recently tweeted that a

Mario & Sonic amiibo at the Olympic Games

Posted on January 24, 2016 by Jason Nason

Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games will be released on March 18th, and this year you’ll be able to take your amiibo to the Olympics. When the action-filled game launches for Nintendo 3DS, both Mario and Sonic amiibo figures will be compatible. By tapping the Mario or Sonic amiibo figures to the New Nintendo 3DS system (or on a Nintendo 2DS/3DS with the NFC Reader/Writer accessory), players can boost Mario and Sonic’s outfits with that character’s power for the day. Basically it looks like this means that you can power up your Mii character in the game
