Nintendo Canada hosts Pre-Launch event in Advance of Fire Emblem Fates Release Next Week

Posted on February 13, 2016 by Jason Nason

Nintendo of Canada held a special pre-release event in Toronto on Friday evening, allowing the general public to get their hands on the game for the first time. The event was split between Birthright and Conquest, with the separate sides draped and lit in the colours of the respective themes. The game was playable for a short time on either side, with both games available to play. Overall the games look and play just like predecessor Fire Emblem Awakening, though there are some minor upgrades to the battles. These are mostly cosmetic, however they look great. Rather than just fading

Final Fantasy Explorers | Review

Posted on February 11, 2016 by Jason Nason

Any game is invariably going to be compared to its predecessors, or in lack thereof at least to other games in same genre. The same way that a sports title will never be judged purely on it’s own without comparison to previous iterations of the series, it’s hard not to compare Final Fantasy Explorers to other Final Fantasy titles. Or Monster Hunter. I got a late start into the world of Monster Hunter, diving into Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for the Nintendo 3DS a full three years after its release. Coming into Final Fantasy Explorers I had no idea how

Splatoon Concert Looks like a Fun-filled event

Posted on February 8, 2016 by Jason Nason

I don’t read and can’t speak or understand Japanese either, which leaves me with just a jealous curiosity about this event. It looks like Japan was treated to a “live” Splatoon concert featuring Callie and Marie from Nintendo’s hit Wii U game. This ia the sort of silly, yet amazing, things that make fans in North America want to hop on a plane and move East. Check out the concert below, courtesy Nintendo of Japan. It’s quite amazing.

Could there be a Dementium III on the way?

Posted on February 8, 2016 by Jason Nason

We missed this during the week, but Jools Watsham from Renegade Kid put the question on Twitter with the question: Would you back a Dementium 3 Kickstarter? The ask comes as Watsham and the team are looking to gauge interest in pursuing a third game in the series. While Kickstarter is a great way to get games funded they can be a lot of work. So before Renegade Kid goes through that effort of setting up a crowdfunding campaign it’s always a good idea to see if they an actually be funded. If everyone who retweets the post were to

Posted on February 7, 2016 by Jason Nason

I’ve decided to split this off from the regular weekly Nintendo Download to give a little more of a deep dive into each newly added item to the eShop sales list. So what’s been on sale previously will have the same list you remember, but new entries will also have more detail at the top of the page. Typoman, which just had a demo released this week, is also on sale for two weeks. So if you enjoy the demo it’s the perfect time to take the plunge and try the full game! Plus Snow Moto Racing 3D from Zordix

Crazy Train | Review

Posted on February 4, 2016 by Jason Nason

I must say that I really appreciate developers who are still supporting DSiWare. Sure the Nintendo DSi is considered an old system now, what with the 3DS/3DS XL and New3DS on the market, plus the eventual release of the mysterious NX, but there are millions of people who own a DSi. Nearly 40 million DSi/DSiXL units were sold worldwide though the systems lifespan, so there is clearly a base of users there. Crazy Train is the latest DSiWare title to hit the DSi Shop. And of course any DSiWare title can also be picked up in the 3DS eShop as
