Pokémon GO Released in the US

After being released to Australia and New Zealand for iOS and Android earlier on July 6th, Pokémon GO has now been officially released in the United States, much to the joy of many Pokémon fans. Pokémon GO is an augmented reality phone app from Niantic, the creators of Ingress. Much like Ingress, Pokémon GO is a GPS-based game that will require users to explore the real world. In Pokémon GO, players can find Pokémon, eggs, Poké Balls and other items, then use them to battle other trainers and even gym leaders.   The game starts by placing the original starter Pokémon around you, allowing you to

New cast trailer for Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse

More details of Atlus’ upcoming RPG Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse are trickling out as the release date draws nearer. That has now been confirmed at September 20th in North America, a date which was expected already with online listings showing the date as such. The next Splatfest will also be the last

After fifteen Splatfests the folks at Nintendo are hanging up their ink guns. Nintendo announced today that the next Splatfest will be the last. The theme for the last Splatfest will be one that will surely be hotly debated, even moreso than the Pokémon themed one previously. Are you Team Callie or Team Marie? The showdown begins at 5:00 AM ET on Friday, July 22nd and will run until 5:00 AM ET on Sunday, July 24th. This is an extra special event as it will last two full days rather than the usual 24 hour contest.

Puzzle Labyrinth | Review

Puzzle Labyrinth is a very bare bones puzzle game. There isn’t anything flashy in the Nintendo 3DS eShop game. Like sitting down to do a crossword or a Sudoku puzzle, this game feels the same way. Each puzzle is independent of the rest in the book and can really be done in any order. There is no connecting story to bridge the puzzles together and no character narrative to bring you from one to the next. Warner Bros. LEGO Star Wars TFA Event Was Amazing!

Last Monday was nothing short of amazing! As part of a small group of media we were able to visit an exclusive event at The Rogers Center in downtown Toronto. That’s right, the exact field the Toronto Blue Jays play at became a fantastic spectacle to highlight Traveller’s Tales upcoming new LEGO Star Wars release. We entered to the familiar John Williams score, making our way up into the TD Comfort Clubhouse to enjoy an all star treatment while being some of the first in Canada to play the new game.

eShop will go to Unholy Heights tomorrow

The awarding winning unique mashup of Tower Defence and Demon monster apartment management, Unholy Heights, arrives in the Nintendo 3DS eShop tomorrow. The game, from PetitDepot and Mebius, is being released on the 3DS by Bergsala-Lightweight. In the game you adopt the role of the Devil, who creates an apartment for monsters to defend against pillaging wannabe heroes! In this interesting Tower Defence game you sucker monsters to live in your apartment building by buying them furniture according to their needs. Metroid Prime: Federation Force gameplay video

With the release of Nintendo’s Metroid Prime: Federation Force set for just under two months away, the Japanese website has launched. Included is a lengthy gameplay promo video for the game. The video showcases a lot of the in game look to the game, as well as detailing a lot of how the game will look once it launches. Blast Ball is also Blast Ball. The video also briefly mentions some of the amiibo functionality, with Samus and Zero Suit Samus amiibo shown. Check out the video below. Nintendo teases amiibo functionality in Metroid Prime: Federation Force

Nintendo shared some information on their social media channels this evening, sharing some information about amiibo compatibility with upcoming Metroid Prime: Federation Force. While tackling missions in Metroid Prime: Federation Force, tapping one of the two Samus amiibo (Samus or Zero Suit Samus) provides upgrades like additional missiles and ammo for the Slow Beam. Additionally you can add some bling to your Blast Ball matches in Metroid Prime: Federation Force by scanning amiibo. Doing so allows you to add a custom paint job to your Mech. No word on just what amiibo will be compatable, with only Mario and Bowser

Another Splatoon Splatfest coming this weekend

Nintendo has unveiled the latest Splatoon Splatfest. The choices for the latest Splatfest are “early bird” or “night own.” Which one will you choose? The early bird may get the worm, but the night owl gets like four more hours of sleep and who the heck wants a worm anyways? You can vote right now in the Splatoon plaza for the next Splatfest: Early Birds vs. Night Owls. The showdown will start on June 24th at 9:00PM PT.

New Pokémon games on the Wii U Virtual Console on Thursday

Nintendo announced three additions to the Wii U Virtual Console lineup on Thursday. This Thursday, three Pokémon Mystery Dungeon titles come to the Wii U Virtual Console. Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team from the Game Boy Advance, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team, and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky both originally Nintendo DS titles. More Pokémon Virtual Console titles are planned for later this summer. Check out what these games are about below.
