Seeing double: Pair of Yo-Kai Watch games coming in Sepember

Posted on September 3, 2016 by Jason Nason

The first Yo-Kai Watch game was fantastic. I got my hands on a copy right away and immediately fell in love with the game. It was quirky, fun, and unique, and filled with so much detail and depth that there was just so much to do. And beyond that the world that was designed had so much detail that the exploration of the city and countryside, which was so much a part of the game, was fun to do. The sequels to that game, and yes I did use the plural of the word, are set to hit the Nintendo

In a game that feels reminicent of the GameCube title Battalion Wars, Nintendo announced a new digital exclusive title called Tank Troopers on Thursday during their Nintendo Direct. This newly announced game lets players customize their tank through special characteristics of tank-pilot Troopers, enabling abilities such as hitting enemies with a freeze attack, launching paint balls to block the opponents’ views or using electric shocks to stall rival tanks where they stand. The game will offer a six-person multiplayer mode, along with Download Play as well.

Shantae: Half-Genie Hero delayed six weeks

Posted on September 2, 2016 by Jason Nason

WayForward issued an update on the progress of their HD Shantae game, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, and the news wasn’t happy news. The update is by no means dire, but the game is going to be delayed up to six weeks or more. Developers have stated that the delay is for bug fixing and adding additional polish, which is definitely a good thing. With the rush to get many games out these days, many games are released relatively unfinished. Day one patches aren’t at all uncommon. The release date has been pushed back from September 27th to sometime in mid-November. Still

Called Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World, this version of the gorgeous Wii U game contains some new features, plus every stage available in the original. The new and exclusive new stages focus on Poochy. Mario Sports Superstars coming to 3DS in Spring 2017

Posted on September 1, 2016 by Jason Nason

Nintendo announced a new Mario Sports title headed to the 3DS next year in Mario Sports Superstars. I’ll be honest. I’m cautiously optimistic on this one. The last true entry to have Mario and company in the sports world was Mario Tennis for the Wii U, but my last experience in a multi-sports title on Nintendo’s portable was the recently released Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Sure the game was a lot of fun, but some of the limitations in character selection left a sour taste in my mouth. I’m hoping those past missteps aren’t repeated

Pikmin game for 3DS coming in 2017

Posted on September 1, 2016 by Jason Nason

Pikmin was one of those odd little games when it was first released for the GameCube but has gained something of a cult following. To be honest I’ve never played a full run through of any games in the series, though I’ve watched plenty of playthrough. And I did get to see and play the Pikmin attraction in NintendoLand. The series has been a mainstay on their home consoles, now Nintendo has announced that the franchise is coming to the Nintendo 3DS in 2017. The game, which has yet to be given a permanent name, is a new side-scrolling adventure

Ambition of the Slimes | REVIEW

Posted on September 1, 2016 by Jason Nason

If you’ve read any of my previous reviews for games in the genre, you’ll know that I enjoy turn based strategy role-playing games. I’ve played and loved playing games like Final Fantasy Tactics (and Final Fantasy Tactics Advance) in the past, and more recently games like Fire Emblem Fates or Mercenaries Saga 2. So when I learned that Circle was making a spin off of Witch & Hero in this genre I jumped at the chance to check it out. Ambition of the Slimes is a great molding of the two. The game is very much a strategic role-playing game
