Double Dragon IV coming to Switch tomorrow

Arc System Works Co., Ltd. announced today that Double Dragon IV, the latest installment in the classic beat’em up series, is coming soon to the Nintendo Switch. Best of all the game will hit the eShop tomorrow. Key team members involved in the 1987 arcade version including Original Planner, Yoshihisa Kishimoto, Designer, Koji Ogata, and Composer, Kazunaka Yamane, have teamed up to recreate the next chapter in the Double Dragon saga. Nintendo discontinuing support for SplatNet

After the announcement last week that Nintendo was shutting down Miiverse, the company quietly announced that they are also discontinuing support for SplatNet. SplatNet is an online service where you can check current and upcoming battle stages in Splatoon, check your current equipment and stats, see where you rank among your friends, as well as tweet out battle plans. As of September 30th the service will end. There won’t be any change to the Splatoon game itself however. This also doesn’t affect the Nintendo Switch Splatoon 2 which doesn’t make use of SplatNet but instead uses SplatNet 2 in the

Nintendo shutting down Miiverse in November

Nintendo announced today that as of 10:00 pm PST on November 7th, the Miiverse service will be discontinued. At that time gamers will no longer be able to access Miiverse from the Wii U console, Nintendo 3DS, or from an internet browser on PCs or smart devices. All Miiverse services will become unavailable, such as viewing or making posts, and messaging with friends. During the GameStop Expo in Las Vegas, Nintendo announced a dual pack of the Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon games for the Nintendo 3DS. SNES Classic to include a “rewind” feature

Nintendo revealed today at Gamescom that their upcoming Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition system will include a Rewind feature. The feature will let players rewind their gameplay to retry tricky sections, pick up missed items or simply run through an area again to see if anything was missed. The rewind time depends on the kind of game though. Players can go back a few minutes in role-playing games such as Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, while action titles such as Super Mario World offer around 40 seconds, ideal for re-trying short segments of gameplay.

PayPal is now available as a payment option for digital content

Starting today customers in the United States and Canada are able to use their PayPal accounts to purchase digital games and content for the Nintendo Switch, both on the system and in the Game Store on the Nintendo website. This way to pay joins the current payment methods of credit cards or Nintendo eShop Cards. When purchasing content, you’ll see a new PayPal payment option at checkout. Nintendo announces Switch Splatoon 2 Edition Bundle

Nintendo announced on Thursday that they are releasing a special Splatoon 2 edition of the Nintendo Switch, which will be available exclusively at Walmart stores. The new Nintendo Switch bundle will include a download code for the Splatoon 2 game, a fresh carrying case and colorful new Joy-Con controllers in Neon Pink and Neon Green. The bundle will be available starting September 8th at a suggested retail price of $379.99 USD.
