Fallout Shelter Convinced Bethesda to Create More Mobile Games

Fallout Shelter, which was released last year during E3, had a surprising amount of success. As a result, Bethesda has expressed a desire to create more games like it. Speaking to Gamespot, Director Todd Howard said: “It’s in your pocket, a lot of [the games are] free or easy to try. Final Fantasy IX Launches on Mobile Devices

Miitomo, My Nintendo to Launch this March

Nintendo outlined its launch plans for both Miitomo, the company’s first smartphone app, as well as their new loyalty rewards program “My Nintendo” today. Nintendo’s first app made exclusively for smart devices, Miitomo, will launch in North America in March for both iOS and Android phones and tablets. Starting February 17th, people will be able to pre-register for Miitomo by signing up for the new Nintendo Account service using their existing email, social media accounts or current Nintendo Network IDs. New Format Announced for Blizzard CCG Hearthstone

New Format Hearthstone
Hearthstone lead designer Ben Brode has taken to youtube to announce a new format for Hearthstone. The format is called Standard, and will encompass all card sets released in the most recent two years. At the start of each year, card sets older than two years will rotate out of the game as the first expansion of the year gets added. Cards from the basic and expert sets are excepted from this rotation and will stay in Standard forever.  Since these shifts will be an annual thing, Blizzard is tying them to what it calls “The Hearthstone Zodiac”, dubbing this

PC gaming passes mobile gaming as most profitable sector of gaming industry

Superdata a market research firm, are reporting this week that the digital games market in 2015 was worth $61 billion across all platforms. This is over 8% more than last years numbers. Despite the largest jump (34%) being in digital sales on consoles, League of Legends leads the pack for most money made by a game in 2015. League reigns supreme but just after League is mobile titan Clash of Clans. Which pulled in a very impressive $1.3 billion over the year. Dragon of Legends Launches Kickstarter Campaign Today

Thrive Games, an independent game developer based out of Hamilton, Ontario, launched a Kickstarter campaign today to help fund their first project Dragon of Legends. Konami bringing New Yu-Gi-Oh! Game to 3DS this summer

Konami announced today that it will release new Yu-Gi-Oh! titles across a number of formats in 2016. In readiness of the series’ 20th year, Konami will bring the Yu-Gi-Oh! series to mobile devices with a new mobile game called Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links. The title will be followed up by a new game for the Nintendo 3DS platform in the summer. Konami will also release a new online game for consoles and PCs in the winter while the popular console game Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist and mobile game Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation will both receive receive major updates.

Final Fantasy IX Heading To Phones & Windows

Square Enix announced via their official website today that the classic ninth entry in the Final Fantasy series will be getting a mobile port as well as a version for Windows PC thru valve’s steam service.
