Black Wii-U Spotted @ E3

Nintendo gave us a small hint of what may be coming in today’s E3 Press briefing — a black Wii-U with Gamepad is on stage. Looks nice! Nintendo’s show begins in a mere 5 minutes — stay tuned to Broken Joysticks for all the news as it is announced.

The Last Of Us Demoed @ E3

Sony wrapped up it’s E3 press conference this evening by showing off the first in-game demo of Naughty Dog’s upcoming title The Last of Us. The demo featured the two main characters going through a high-budget destroyed hotel that was inhabited by enemies and included a ton of cringe-inducing gameplay elements, as both of the main characters helped each other survive by throwing bricks, stabbing enemies, and finally, introducing an enemy’s face to the barrel of a shotgun. The game appears to be very survival based, as the lead character’s health bar often took large hits from single shots. A

4 Player Co-Op Confirmed for Far Cry 3

Ubisoft announced during Sony’s E3 press conference that the game will ship with a full-length 4 player cooperative campaign. In addition, the game will ship with a map editor for it’s multiplayer mode. Sony confirmed that the PS3 version of the game will come with exclusive DLC.

Sony Brings AAA games to PSN Plus For Free

Sony has announced that PSN plus members will be able to download AAA games like Infamous 2, Saints Row 2 and Little Big Planet 2 starting TOMORROW. These retail games are just the first of a series that Sony promises to roll out throughout the remainder of the year, with a total of 12 hitting this month alone! They also stressed that the price of PSN Plus will not be changing. New PS All-Stars Characters, Cross-Play With Vita Announced

At Sony’s E3 Press Briefing this evening, Sony confirmed that a Vita version of Playstation All-Stars: Battle Royale is in development and will ship alongside the PS3 version. In addition to that, cross-platform play and cross-platform saving between the two versions was announced. Characters shown off at the show include Kratos, Sweet Tooth, Fat Princess, Sly Cooper, Helghast and Parappa The Rapper. New footage was demoed live, featuring a point-gathering gametype with a dynamic changing level that featured elements from God of War. Sony Unviels PlayStation Move Wheel Perpherial

During the opening pre-roll shown to hype up the audience at Sony’s press conference we spotted a new piece of move hardware during the opening seconds. What appears to be a move steering wheel peripheral was spot on screen for a few seconds. This accessory seems to be similar to that Wii steering wheel Nintendo offered with Mario Kart 7. This comes just a few hours after we reported that Sony would show off some kind of new hardware at the event. Avengers Battle For Earth Is a Who’s Who of Comic Book Legends

Up until now little was known about Marvel’s Battle For Earth aside from the fact that the game would feature popular characters like Thor, Iron man and the Hulk. The game’s first debut trailer hit during Ubisoft’s press conference and it features none of those characters initially. The demo starts while you’re seductively tranced by a mistress wearing…not all that much. You then, are then swimming to get to your destination. Need for Speed: Most Wanted Slides Into Retail On Oct 30th

Criterion Games announced their next Need for Speed title, Need for Speed: Most Wanted at the EA press conference. They promised that the game will feature even more competition than before with the second generation of the auto log technology. Electronic Arts promises that the SimCity franchise will “reclaim the city building crown” with the release of SimCity five and SimCity Social for Facebook. Toy Soldiers Dev’s Next Game: Ascend New Gods

The developers behind the Toy Soldiers franchise revealed a brand-new game at Microsoft’s E3 press conference. Titled Ascend: The New Gods the trailer shows a series of large creatures battling each other, each new creature is larger than the last! It actually starts out with an human archer climbing the back of a large creature, before getting even more intense. The sense of scale and the ability to climb up the backs of large creatures brings to mind 2005’s Shadow of the Colossus. Aside from hack and slash gameplay and seemingly mature direction not much is known about the game.

Tomb Raider: Gameplay Teaser

From Crystal Dynamics they bring forward Tomb Raider. The demo showed is an action sequence showing off a bunch of really cool stuff. Opening up with showing off the mechanics of the hunting bow that Lara uses. The game utilizes lightning fast movement and action. Where Lara can be in and out of combat within seconds. Showing off lots of great environments too. From the AI having conversations amongst each other to the rain steadily falling.

Microsoft’s SmartGlass & IE Confirmed For Xbox

Microsoft confirmed rumors that they will be bringing their Smart Glass technology to iPhones, Windows 8 tablets and android devices. The service allows you to move video content from one device to another with a simple press of a button. when video content is moved you’re able to resume it at the exact moment you left off. During the demo, well watching Sherlock Holmes, on a large TV the tablet will display additional information to keep you informed.
