Next Ratchet & Clank Features Tower Defense

Posted on July 19, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

James from Insomniac Games published a guest post over at the PlayStation Blog outlining some brand new features coming to their latest game, Rachet and Clank: Full Frontal Assault. While the game returns to the classic third person, behind the player, combat we’re all used too – Insomniac has also introduced a new tower defense mechanic. In addition to the addition of tower defense mechanic, which will hopefully be further detailed in the future,  the game also adds the ability to chose between 3 different heroes – Ratchet, Clank, or Captain Qwark and an online mode. Hideo Kojima Sorry To Fans About MGS5 Hoax

Posted on July 17, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Fans and blogs alike where alight with news that the logo for Hideo Kojima’s next project Metal Gear Solid 5 had been shown at the San Diego Comic Con. Konami was quick to squash these rumors, and considering that fact that the only source of the rumor was a blurred, camera-phone-esque, image of the supposed logo it’s just as well that it is fake. As he usually does, Kojima-San addressed his fans , more specifically those who may have fallen for the fake logo, saying: “That title logo is completely fake. Apologies to those who were looking forward to this.”

Cole MacGrath and Jack & Daxter Confirmed For Battle Royale

Posted on July 16, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Electricity and fur collide with the announcement of Jack & Daxter and Cole McGrath as playable characters in PlayStation All-Star Battle Royal. Over the weekend at ComiCon Sony confirmed that the lightening empowered hero from Infamous and Infamous 2 will be shocking his way onto the battlefield along with Jack and his wisecracking fur-ball Daxter (okay no more puns I promise). Jack & Daxter, like the Ice Climbers in Super Smash Bros, fight in a pair within close proximity of each other. Cole of course prefers to deliver deeply voiced narratives to himself while on the battlefield. Along with the

Video Game Music: Vol 2

Posted on July 11, 2012 by Jason Bassett

To view Volume 1, please click here! As I sit here to write the next song, I am reminded of a song that took my breath away playing the original Assassin’s Creed. City of Jerusalem was the first song that I took notice to in Jesper Kyd’s great soundtrack that took the video game world by storm. The reason I choose City of Jerusalem for this week is because it does something new and bold that video game soundtracks rarely see. It takes a look at a middle eastern view on music and add’s great depth to the series, especially

Magic: A Gift Or A Curse?

Posted on July 4, 2012 by Eric Bastelak

Now I’ve made it very clear in the past that I love Dragon Age: Origins. I have mixed feelings on its predecessor Dragon Age 2, but that is a topic for another article. Today my dear readers we are here to discuss something far greater. Recently I was replaying Origins and I have been following this up with a speedy play through of Dragon Age 2. During this retread of familiar ground I have found myself able to reexamine some philosophical questions raised by both of these titles particularly the use of magic and mages themselves.
