STEINS;GATE 0 coming to Europe and North America in 2016

Posted on May 27, 2016 by Fionna Schweit

As a massive fan of Steins;Gate both in its anime and Visual Novel (VN) formats my heart skipped a beat when this mail arrived in our PR box today. For those not familiar with the anime or its primogeniture the visual novel just titled Steins;Gate it’s a story of love, and time travel, and a particular computer, or something. The real meat of the game is spoilers to the game itself so I wont spend many words on it and will just say its a really fantastic game, and an even better show so go watch it. STEINS;GATE 0 is

Ace Attorney: from game to anime

Posted on May 23, 2016 by Jason Nason

Adapted from the popular video game franchise, Ace Attorney follows rookie lawyer Phoenix Wright and his assistant Maya as he defends his clients in a court of law. With limited evidence and logic as his only weapon, can Phoenix Wright turn the case around when all the odds are stacked against him? I’ve just discovered the series and have only gotten started with it, but it is pretty fun so far. Much like the games, Ace Attorney doesn’t take itself too seriously and breaks up some of the serious tension of the subject matter with some humerous bits. And if

Loot Crate brings some of the best geeky nerdy gamer gear to the table already with their subscription boxes, and now anime fans are going to be able to get in on the action. Crunchyroll is of course the best source for streaming anime on the internet, and one of our favorite partners (try a 15 day free trial on us!) This is practically a match made in heaven as it will grant much greater access to the folks from loot crate to Crunchyrolls extensive network of Japanese contacts for licensing. The first crate to feature this match made in

Star Fox Zero The Anime? You Can Check It Out Right Here

Posted on April 23, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Star Fox Zero
Nintendo recently released a 14 minute anime short to help promote yesterday’s launch for Star Fox Zero for the Wii U. Serving as an introduction to the major characters – Fox, Peppy, Slippy, Falco and General Pepper – it doesn’t exactly shed any new light on the Star Fox universe but it is still quite the treat for long time fans. Like the game, the aesthetic of “The Battle Begins“ is very reminicint of Star Fox 64 and it can be quite amusing to see some of the long running anime tropes make their way into the Star Fox formula.

Posted on January 17, 2016 by Jason Nason

If you are a free member of Crunchyroll, the anime streaming service, there are some changes coming that will affect you. For the last five years Crunchyroll has been simulcasting 50 shows every season and adding many library titles. The streaming service has also expanded the free streaming service across mobile and living room devices, including Apple TV, PlayStation, Xbox, and Wii U consoles. In order to continue building the best collection of anime alongside the increasing cost of content, Crunchyroll is making some changes to the free experience.

One Punch Man: A little bit of this and that make a great anime

Posted on January 15, 2016 by Fionna Schweit

Where do I start? One Punch Man is not your typical anime, it’s not about school girls, it’s not about a group of friends overcoming ever more difficult challenges, and it’s not about training or getting better. One Punch Man is what happens after the training. It’s primarily a comedy anime, but it also has some of the best choreographed amazing hand to hand combat I have ever seen.  If you took the non-stop, heavy hitting, terrain destroying, combat from the later DBZ arcs, and injected it in to the funny slice of life type of comedy that was featured

Final Fantasy VII Remake Details Revealed in Famitsu

Posted on December 15, 2015 by Broken Joysticks

Final Fantasy VII remake
The new issue of Famitsu, the famous Japanese gaming magazine, has revealed new info about the Final Fantasy VII remake. Most notably, the game will have more focus on Biggs, Wedge, and Jesse, as well as a fully explorable Midgar. Square has been slowly dripping out info regarding the remake of the classic game, and not all of it has been received positively. In recent gameplay footage, the new battle system was revealed which does away with much of the turn-based elements of the original game in favour of a system resembling that of the FF XIII series. There has

Screenshots Released for Attack on Titan Game

Posted on November 21, 2015 by Broken Joysticks

Attack on Titan
Attack on Titan is getting a game and Koei Tecmo has uploaded a bunch of screengrabs and videos sans audio on its official website. The footage features some of the characters interacting with each other, while the screengrabs focus mostly on showcasing the Titans, as well as the maneuver gear. Alright, so let’s get this out of the way: The Titan’s look incredibly freaky in these. A lot of people are slagging it off for that but….I think that might be a good thing? In the original series, the titans are given purposefully weird faces and walking cycles, with frames

YouTube Red Blocking Certain Gaming Videos in the United States

Posted on October 26, 2015 by Broken Joysticks

Last week YouTube announced the premiere of YouTube Red. This service allows content creators to gate off some of their videos behind a subscription fee. It seems however that as with every major change YouTube seems to make, there have been some issues. Certain gaming companies have not yet agreed to the terms for YouTube Red and as a result of this footage of certain games is getting blocked for US viewers.
