Ah conventions. It seems like there are more and more of them popping up. And that’s not a bad thing. That’s a great thing.

Do you remember the days when you had to go to Toronto to get your geek on? To see crowds of people dressed up in cosplay, gaming together and doing all of those things that you never dared to do in public? Well now you don’t have only one or two options for such conventions. Niagara Falls has a conventions. St. Catharines’ has a convention and Hamilton has a couple conventions now.

ConBravo! took place last weekend in downtown Hamilton and filled the Hamilton Convention Centre and neighbouring Sheraton Hotel with colour. This year marks the 5th annual ConBravo! convention and the second year that the con has called Hamilton home.

The con, which started as a much smaller convention in Burlington, now occupies all three floors of the Hamilton Convention Centre and the Sheraton hotel in downtown Hamilton and runs for a full three days in July.
