Nintendo unveiled this morning that there is an update coming for Animal Crossing: New Leaf for the Nintendo 3DS. Nearly four years after the release, Nintendo is releasing a free update for the game.

The update, which will come this November, will bring amiibo functionality to the game.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf will support all four series of Animal Crossing amiibo cards, which consist of 400 cards in total. According to the amiibo website, tapping an Animal Crossing amiibo card to your game will prompt the villager on the card to visit your town. They may even move in!

All of the Animal Crossing amiibo figures, which were released for Animal Crossing amiibo Festival on the Wii U, will also be compatible with the game.
