Eager fans wishing to see original Solid Snake voice actor David Hayter return to his most famous role have had their wishes fulfilled in the oddest of ways. Car manufacturer Ford not only commissioned Hayter to return as Solid Snake but they also secured Paul Eiding, the voice of Colonel Roy Campbell, for a single Metal Gear machinima spot posted on their official YouTube Channel.

This whole thing might seem a little surreal, given the fact that Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima parted ways with Hayter back in 2013, instead giving the role of Solid Snake to Hollywood actor Kiefer Sutherland. But with Kojima and Konami’s public split now behind them, perhaps Konami is looking for ways to show goodwill to long time fans, while at the same time making a little cash? Or perhaps the whole idea was spawned from Ford’s advertising agency? I mean, this is the company that hired the original English Dragon Ball Z voice actors for a (Ford) fusion dance spot.

Either way the whole thing might seem like a psychomantis fueled psychosis but I assure you it is very real. Check out the spot below:
