Cypronia announced Friday that the second update to its hit Wii U Nintendo eShop game, Cube Life: Island Survival, will be released worldwide in March 2016. The game was originally released for the Wii U last June.
The new update (v1.2) will let you share custom maps (like Super Mario Maker). With the update there will be 400+ items are now available, with new items like ladders, motorboats, diving masks, traps, and more. Cypronia has also completely redesigned AI, making canibals smarter.
Nintendo of Canada held a special pre-release event in Toronto on Friday evening, allowing the general public to get their hands on the game for the first time. The event was split between Birthright and Conquest, with the separate sides draped and lit in the colours of the respective themes.
The game was playable for a short time on either side, with both games available to play.
Overall the games look and play just like predecessor Fire Emblem Awakening, though there are some minor upgrades to the battles. These are mostly cosmetic, however they look great. Rather than just fading out between the map screen and the battles themselves, this time in Fates the camera zooms right down onto into the battle where you can see your characters doing battle. As well after the battle is complete the camera pulls back to show the entire battlefield.
The way the characters battle within these battles also looks and feels more natural, with more fluidity and more realism.
It’s a very minor and cosmetic thing, but got our attention so it was worth mentioning.
Canadian retailers might be receiving a new round of permanent discounted Nintendo titles thanks to the ‘Nintendo Selects’ label. Originally posted on the twitter account for retailer Video Games Plus before being permanently deleted. The below image has been making the rounds and if it’s accurate than games once considered rare, one off prints, like Super Mario All Stars for Wii & Pikmin 3 for Wii-U could be getting a new lease on life.
All titles are listed at an MSRP of $29.99 CDN but considering they span three different platforms and two generations this pricing shouldn’t be taken at face value.
We’ll find out if this expansion of Nintendo Selects is accurate closer to the March 11th street date. Do you think someone let the cat out of the bag early?
Warhammer 40,000 games are some of my favorite games I have ever played. The groundbreaking RTS Dawn of War from Relic Entertainment is still one of my most played steam games. So when I heard there was going to be a space game set in the 40K universe, it was an instant buy. Now just a few short months away from the release of Battlefleet Gothic: Armada we finally get our first look at the one of the other playable factions in the game: the Chaos. Chaos is perhaps the most dynamic faction in the game, with their ships warping and changing based on which god the are worshiping. Their ships sprout skulls, points, and other marks from their Chaos gods, and those boost their fleets powers.
The video details how the Chaos are a bit out of date, but because of their worships of their perverse gods, they get a lot of boosts and are faster, with longer ranges than their Imperium counterparts. The game will feature 4 different Chaos marks, Khorne, Slaanesh, Tzeentch and Nurgle will each give their favor to your fleets over the course of the game providing different buffs. Chaos ships are fast, lighter armed, and feature less armor than the Imperium ships previous trailers showed. Their weapons however are more effective at range and they pack a powerful time stopping bomb to neutralize the imperial fleets torpedoes.
Holy wow, I just can not wait for this game, though its been quite a long wait, Tindalos Interactive is finally letting a few details out prior to the games March release date. I have watched with baited breath each trailer, each piece of news and new trailer has only gotten me deeper in to the lore and more excited for the games release. Look for our review come release, and hit the jump for the full trailer.
Australia’s ratings board is pretty well known for spoiling major game reveals. So when PCgamer reports that they have broken the seals on a new Dead Island game, I am inclined to believe them. The classification site recently listed a new game called Dead Island Retro Revenge, which it slapped with an “M” rating for bloody violence and online interactivity. So Dead Island was pretty violent and bloody so no surprise there, and online suggests it will hopefully be in the same vein as the Dead Island games before with co-operative open world zombie killing action.
unfortunately Australia’s game rating site doesn’t give up the same kind of deep informative details as the US counterpart the ESRB, what we do know is that it will be published by Koch Media, the parent company of Deep Silver, and that it’s being developed by Empty Clip Studios.None of that really means anything to us, beyond the fact that Empty Clip is the developer that owns the Rapid Fire Engine which has been used in a few games, perhaps most notably Monaco: What’s Yours Is Mine.
Fans of Dead Island will remember that this last year has not been a particularly good one for the franchise, as Dead Island 2 ended up in development hell, after it was first delayed, then eventually lost its developer. Landing it in the territory of the never was, that magic developer hell where we know it exists, but have no idea how done it is, or if it will ever be ready for consumers. Dead Island: Epidemic MOBA was also shut down in October before it even had a chance to get out of Early Access. Hopefully this new filing means that the franchise will
