Horror classic The 7th Guest and its sequel, The 11th Hour are now available on Steam, allowing players new and old to experience one of the original horror games, known for using live action video to form the core game.Originally released in 1993, The 7th Guest is a horror adventure game of a bygone era, one of the first computer games to be released only on CD-ROM, the story is told from the perspective of an amnesiac, whom the player controls. The games success is largely credited for the success of CD-ROM drive sales.
The sequel, The 11th Hour, also a horror adventure game, featured similar gameplay and was set some 60 years after the original game, however, due to a late market release, failed to meet sales expectations.
The game has also received ports to various systems, and is available on iOS. Previous possibility for a third game had been cut short when the company collapsed, however, the recent ressurection of the series has led to Trilobyte considering a third entry.
