The continuation of the Pokémon series is looking great, and now it looks like you can ride on at least one Pokémon in this new 3D world. Nintendo is really improving this sequel, making both battles and the world you’ll explore into a seemingly fully 3D experience. Of course this only helps to show off the tech of the 3DS however it really looks like quite a surprising improvement over a series that was already looking better and better.

Kotaku notes that four new Pokémon are featured in this preview. They also note that the new region is named Kalos, and it’s central location is Lumiose City. The X and Y pairing of Pokémon is set to be released this October. Enjoy the trailer and here are the specific details from Kotaku on the video:

Beginning at 0:44 you can see the new Pokémon. They are, in order, Fletchling, a normal- and flying-type Pokémon; Pancham, a fighting type with a brand-new move called “Parting Shot” that allows him to switch out for another Pokémon in the trainer’s group; Helioptile, a normal- and electric-type whose hit points are restored by half of the damage its Parabolic Charge causes; and Gogoat, a grass-type Pokémon who will give players “a reliable way to travel certain parts of Lumiose City.”
