Wii U Direct – Two Zelda Games on the Horizon

Posted on January 23, 2013 by Jason Nason

Nintendo unveiled plans on Wednesday’s Nintendo Direct for not only a brand new Zelda game for the console but also the HD update and refreshing of GameCube Zelda game The Wind Waker.

With the newest Zelda game not coming around for quite some time as it’s still in development, Nintendo released details of the Wind Waker. The updated and upgraded Wind Waker will be released this fall for the Wii U. After showing off a demo of the Wii U using the Zelda game at E3 in 2011 the developers continued to see what they could do with the new system. They felt that Wind Waker wouldn’t just be a simple update but needed to be fully transformed into HD in a new game.Read More

Wii U Direct – New Yoshi Game Coming

Posted on January 23, 2013 by Jason Nason

Nintendo revealed that the company is working on a new game staring Yoshi for the Nintendo Wii U. This will be the first game to feature the dino as the main character since Yoshi’s Story for the Nintendo 64. That game was released back in 1998!

If you’ve played that game it was pretty fun, though people either love it or hate it. I’m of the latter. Loved it and played it a lot on my N64. It’s also been released as a virtual console title for the Wii.Read More

LEGO City’s Latest Trailer Gives A Glimpse At The Open World

Posted on January 23, 2013 by Les Major

Many saw LEGO City as an open world family friendly GTA like game when it was first announced. Oddly enough I can’t help but think of similarities as I watch this latest trailer that gives a look at some of the games transportation. LEGO games have come a long way in a short time from LEGO Batman 2 having loose open world controls, to LEGO Lord of the Rings getting the formula down much better. Now it seems we’ll have much more to explore in this latest Wii U title.Read More

Wii U Direct – New Wonderful 101 Trailer

Posted on January 23, 2013 by Jason Nason

Nintendo showed off a new video for Platinum Games’ upcoming project The Wonderful 101 at the Nintendo Direct on Wednesday.

No further details of the game were released and there is still no firm release date, but the new gameplay footage ramps up the excitement for the quirky title.

With one hundred unique characters in the game I think that Platinum and Nintendo would remiss not to capitalize on that an spin off other media opportunities when the game launches. If there is nothing planned in the way of anime or manga then some collectables would be a nice fit for the look of the series.Read More

Monolith Soft is working on a new title for the Nintendo Wii U and it looks like it’s going to be in the Xeno series of games, but what it is and when it will be released is still a mystery. Presumably it will be a direct followup to last year’s Xenoblade Chronicles for the Wii.

Nintendo unveiled the teaser trailer at the latest Nintendo Direct and the game looks gorgeous.

The game features the character design of Kunihiko Tanaka, music from Hiroyuki Sawano and comes from executive director Tetsuya Takahashi.Read More

Wii U Direct – Fire Emblem / Shin-Megami Tensei Crossover Planned

Posted on January 23, 2013 by Jason Nason

Nintendo revealed a teaser trailer for an upcoming collaboration title being developed by Intelligent Systems Co. Ltd, Atlus and Nintendo. The game is a crossover between Atlus’ Shin-Megami Tensi series and Nintendo’s Fire Emblem series, though no other details were revealed.

Will this be a strategy game? Perhaps this will be a fighting game in the same vein as Marvel vs. Capcom. Considering the roots of the Shin-Megami Tensi series as a dungeon crawler and rpg it’s likely to be a crossover story and an RPG, but a nice fighter would be welcome.Read More
