Sony announced this morning that PlayStation Plus will be launching on the PS Vita this November. At E3 Jack Trenton announced that the service would be coming to the handheld but very little in the way of details were offered. We now have a better picture of what the portable iteration of Sony’s premium membership will offer.

The most anticipated features, free games will of course be available on Vita. Sony promises more details in the future regarding which titles will be offered on Vita. Outside of the free goodies PSN+ members will be able to enjoy discount on downloadable vita games, DLC as well as regular sales. The automatic update feature, which downloads free DLC and patches to the console while on standby, will also be available this November.

What do you think about the inclusion of PSN+ on the Vita? For me, it means more reason to bust out one of my favorite handhelds. The free games do have me a little worried, the Vita doesn’t have the strongest line-up at this point so I don’t see Sony offering any premium games. Perhaps they’ll offer downloadable games like Escape Plan or the recently reduced (can be found for less than $20) Wipeout 2048 or MLB.
