Just got some great news from a super-fantastic PR friend of mine from Deep Silver. Word on the street is, both Dead Island: Riptide and Sacred 3 will be shown at PAX Prime! That’s right, if you’ve got the ability to head to PAX Prime this year, you’ll have the ability to see the public debut of two of Deep Silver’s knock-out franchises. Along with that tid-bit of information, my PR contact was nice enough to send out a blurb about each game, which I’ve included below, after the jump.
Regarding Dead Island: Riptide:
The next installment in the multi-million selling Dead Island™ series, Dead Island Riptide will be shown in the Deep Silver booth to PAX attendees in exclusive demonstrations led by Dead Island’s Senior Creative Producer, Sebastian Reichert.
The survivors of Banoi thought they had escaped the terrors of the tropical island and survived the apocalypse on a corrupted paradise. Then their fate took a turn for the worse…
In Dead Island Riptide the undead nightmare starts all over again, leaving hope drowning in the rising tides. Dead Island Riptide is the next installment in the Dead Island franchise, currently in development by Techland for consoles and PCs. The game will be released in 2013.
Regarding Sacred 3:
Sacred™ 3, the follow-up to the beloved isometric hack-and-slash RPG, Sacred 2: Fallen Angel, will also be debuted for the first time in live multiplayer gameplay walkthroughs by Senior Creative Producer Isaac Parakhen. Additionally, the recently announced side-scrolling arcade brawler spinoff to the Sacred series, Sacred Citadel, will be playable in hands-on demonstration areas.
After decades of peace a new shadow is cast over the world of Ancaria. Only if the clans from across the lands combine their skills the glimmer of hope left within the resistance will ignite a fierce battle for peace. Sacred 3 is an addictive Action RPG experience with accessible yet sophisticated gameplay and will be released in 2013.
Three warriors unite against an evil that threatens to enslave the once peaceful world of Ancaria. Lord Zane’s Ashen Empire has created an army of Grimmocs, modified Orc henchmen at war with the Seraphim. Only when these heroes unite and use their skills to support each other they will stand a chance!
The side-scrolling action brawler Sacred Citadel, a new standalone title that is set in the rich universe of Sacred, will reinvent the familiar arcade feel of classic brawlers while setting a new standard for the future of side scrolling hack and slash games.
The events in Sacred Citadel will act as a prologue to the next chapter of the Sacred story and will unveil an intriguing secret about the Seraphim that will directly relate to the action RPG Sacred 3, currently in development by keen games and to be released in 2013.
So there you have it, folks, straight from the proverbial horse’s mouth. Which are you more excited for: Sacred 3 or Dead Island: Riptide? Personally I can’t wait for Riptide, myself! I want back at those zombie fools with my bladed weapons! Booyah!
