Avengers: Battle For Earth has me sitting on the proverbial fence. One one side, the comic nerd in me, wants this game so badly because a Marvel Comics game has never been able to be played this way. There-in lies the other side of the fence. The Kinect Only has always been a hit or miss when it comes to Kinect games.

I won’t this game completely as I have not seen the first bit of gameplay for it. But normally the Kinect games are really good (such asKinect Sports)or just awful. There’s normally an absence of middle ground.

With that being said, I am excited about this in my nerd sorta way. So, here is the trailer straight out of GamesCon 2012 and some screenshots as well:

Celebrate The Olympics With NBA 2K13

It’s the 20th anniversary of the USA’s “Dream Team” for the Basketball event at the Olympics, and 2K Games is celebrating by including the 1992 and 2012 teams in NBA 2K13. Jay-Z, the executive producer behind 2K13, states that he made the decision to have these two crews in the game so that people could settle “one of the greatest sports debates of our time.”

I’ve never heard people hype up the 2012 team, and probably for good reason. You just can’t compete against people like Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, and Scottie Pippen. Although, Pippen appears to be absent in the featured image above with the 1992 team.

NBA 2K13 will be released on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PSP, PC, and Wii on October 2, 2012. Check out the game’s official website here.

Skylanders: Giants Chills Out With This New Character

Activision has a monster on their hands. Skylanders are becoming as collectible as Pokemon. The original title boasted a lofty 32 different characters – 4 from each of the 8 elements. That doesn’t even include all the variants that are out there of these collectible video game characters. Skylanders are popular and they are selling like hotcakes!

With the announcement of the new game, Skylanders Giants, we all knew that both there would be even more new characters to come. Today, Toys For Bob and Activision have announced a new character that will join the fray: Chill. So just who is this new character? Check out the profile below to learn a bit more about her!

Character Type: New Skylander
Bio: Chill was the sworn guardian and personal protector of the Snow Queen. As captain of the queen’s guard, her many heroic deeds had earned her the respect of the entire Ice Kingdom. But when the Cyclops army began to expand their empire into the northern realms, the Snow Queen was taken prisoner during her watch, and Chill has never forgiven herself for letting it happen. Ashamed and embarrassed, she left the Ice Kingdom behind and swore never to return until she could reclaim her honor. The Next Command & Conquer Game Will Be Free To Play

The battle over ore and tiberium has raged on our computer screens for the past 17 years almost unabated. Even with the closure of original developer Westwood Studios in 2003 publisher Electronic Arts was able to bring the series back in true form with Command & Conquer 3 just four short years later. Can they re-invent the franchise once again after failing to resurrect the Generals sub-series?

The shift from a “premium experience” (ie. full $60 disc based games) to an all digital, free to play platform has slowly engulfed some of the PCs biggest multiplayer titles . Dream Team vs 2012 Gold Medalist In 2k13

Mass Effect 3 Leviathan DLC Dated

Bioware has just announced that the next single player DLC for Mass Effect 3 called Leviathan will be released on August 28th 2012 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Those with a PS3 in Europe will have to wait an extra day for the release.Cost is $10 or 800 Microsoft points. Read More

Harry Potter Kinect GamesCom Screens

Harry Potter Kinect is set to cast a magic spell on Microsoft’s Xbox 360 later this fall. Sure, the films & books may be long finished but it seems that Harry, Ron and Hermione will live on forever in virtual form, or at least until Warner Bros Interactive’s license agreement with JK Rowling expires.

These latest screens show off some of the activities that will be available to players including casting spells using cauldrons, quidditch matches and more. Of course, it wouldn’t be a visit from Harry Potter without our old friend Voldemort.

Okay, I admit I only have a passing knowledge of the Harry Potter universe. Harry Potter for Kinect is scheduled to be released this fall 2012.

Metal Gear Rising Revengeance Adopts Dog and Release Date

Early this morning, Konami premiered a trailer for the latest title in the Metal Gear saga. Metal Gear Rising Revengeance finaily has a concrete release date after years of lingering in devolpment limbo, with the previously mentioned 2013 release date now seeing Raiden slicing into stores February 19.

In a mostly repurposed trailer from E3, Konami showed the more emotional side of the upcoming action extravaganza by showing the bond between a cyborg and his mechanical mutt.
