Microsoft confirmed rumors that they will be bringing their Smart Glass technology to iPhones, Windows 8 tablets and android devices. The service allows you to move video content from one device to another with a simple press of a button. when video content is moved you’re able to resume it at the exact moment you left off. During the demo, well watching Sherlock Holmes, on a large TV the tablet will display additional information to keep you informed.
They demoed the ability to have informative applications run alongside video content. During a screening of Game of Thrones for example an interactive map popped up on the tablet displaying events as they happened in the show.
Microsoft also showed a hypothetical Halo 4 app where your Xbox live stats for modes like slayer and invites are displayed in real-time, allowing you to join games in progress and stay in touch with friends.
A version of Internet Explorer for Kinect was also demo’d. It gives users the ability to watch trailers and video content from some of your favorite websites in full-screen. The dashboard for Internet Explorer looks very similar to the Xbox live marketplace, with simple squares for your most visited websites.
Both of these services will be available this fall.
