I have long hoped that, by the time I successful reproduce, it would be socially acceptable to throw your children about like footballs. This would mostly be for serious reasons, like solving puzzles ( like the New York Times Crossword puzzle), but it would also be great fun for parent and child alike.

Alas, our social mores about offspring flinging are unlikely to change in such a short period of time. Until society advances to accommodate my wishes, Offspring Fling, an aptly titled indie game just released on Steam on Mother’s Day, will have to scratch that itch. You can read more about it and watch a trailer after the jump.

Offspring Fling is the work of Kyle Pulver, an indie developer with vision. That vision is a nightmarish one where a strange creature must save its offspring from the insidious Dino Boss. Naturally, to do this, she must throw her children at things, solve puzzles, and work her way through 100 levels (plus levels created with the level editor). I still haven’t figured out what this creature is supposed to be, but I like the cut of her jib, or at least her views on proper child rearing.

One thing that I don’t get is why she won’t let Dino Boss have a few of her kids? Dino Bosses have to eat too, you know, and she has a lot of kids.

If this madness seems up your alley you can pick it up on Steam for $6.39
